Inmate's death subject of prison probe The Associated Press State prison officials have launched an investigation into the death of an inmate, authorities said Monday. Corrections Department spokesman Brian Corbett said in
a statement that Charles Agee, 47, died Friday after he was subdued in

No other details were provided. Corbett said Agee was serving a 25-year sentence out of Jefferson County for a 1981 murder. He also had convictions for robbery and assault. He said an investigation and an autopsy will be conducted
to determine how Agee died.

The Alabama Department of Corrections says an inmate
at the Donaldson Correctional Facility in Jefferson County died Friday,
January 21.
According to the department, Charles Agee died "after being subdued in the medical clinic" at the facility. The Department of Corrections said in a press release a full review of the circumstances surrounding Agee's death is being conducted. Agee was 47 years old and was serving a 25-year sentence for murder. |
