The Kerry Walker Story

(Nightmare in Georgia)

Note: This is a copy of the letter that I sent the governor after I found out that the G.B.I. (Georgia Bureau of Investigation) was not going to do anything because of the use of the word "review" instead of "investigate" in the letter from the governor. I talked with several people on the governor's staff, including Norris Smith, and I was told that this word would not be changed. It is amazing that Governor Perdue advocates a boycott of Aruba because of their failure to conduct a serious investigation, yet he will not have a serious investigation done in his own state. It is disturbing to me that the governor (or the governor's office) lied to me and played me for a fool.

Governor Sonny Perdue CERTIFIED MAIL NO. 7005 1160 0002 3355 0190

201 State Capitol

Atlanta, Georgia 30334 October 25, 2005

Dear Governor Perdue,

It was nice to meet you and the Mr. Fry at the breakfast in your honor. I really enjoyed the event. I received your letter asking the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to review my case and I appreciate you writing it. I certainly have been diligent in letting the light shine on my innocence in this case over the past four years and I appreciate your respect for that. My relationship with this energy behind all Creation that started over thirteen years and six months ago has taught me to absolve the self completely and to live a life of absolute goodness and to face my troubles head on and without fear. This does not mean that I’m perfect, only that I have a perfect heart. I can tell you of the miraculous accomplishments that I have done since that time, and, although my dreams have been destroyed on the one hand, I have produced more miracles on the other.

I received a call on Thursday from Cherokee County Sheriff’s Evidence Control to come pick up my crossbow. I was happy to hear this, as I knew this meant that I had won my battle for my innocence and against the disgusting attempts by Mr. Peavy to cover up exculpatory evidence in his dishonest and criminal intent to manufacture my quilt. I spoke with attorney Jeff Rusbridge shortly after and he informed me that Garry Moss was dismissing my charges. This was more good news. I then called the District Attorney’s office and I spoke with Holly from the DA’s office and she informed me that my order of dismissal was just waiting for the judge to sign it, and she told me that she had prepared the order herself. Holly told me that I could call her during the week to check on picking up a copy. Of course this was even more good news.

I talked at length with John Heinen yesterday and I found out that your letter to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is not what I hoped and prayed it would be. It seems that your use of the word “review” instead of the word “investigate” is the problem. Because you asked the G.B.I. to “review” my case, means that absolutely nothing will be done on it and the only “more specific response” to me will state just that. As you can imagine, this was very disappointing news.

Please correct this matter by asking the director that you appointed, Vernon Keenon, to “investigate” my case and the allegations of malfeasance that I can substantiate. This will allow Vernon Keenon to turn the investigation over to Kim Williams in the Cleveland, Georgia office, as I understand this to be the office that investigates incidents in Cherokee County.

Thank you for your concern and your help in this important matter.

Best regards,

Kerry Walker
