TAKE ACTION - please write to both of these women and also write to newspapers in Tennessee, etc.  The abuse these women are receiving and the obstruction of justice, plus the corruption of the prison officials needs to be exposed before someone gets killed in there... I have scanned their letters for you to read and I will get them on the website as soon as possible.  They are NAMING NAMES!!!!!

Thank you, Sherry Swiney

Dear Tonya:

We are in receipt of your two letters - March 11th and March 29th.  We are also in receipt of Taniese Wilson's letter dated March 4th.  Sorry for the delay in responding.  Assuming your mail is being read, I will not go into details - but know this! We will act on your behalf.  I am publishing your letters to our 168 members nationwide and we will put this on our website on the world wide internet as well.  From there, we will insist on an investigation.

Should you receive retaliation from this, let the retaliators be aware that such is a felony punishable by Law and they might just end up where you are right now.all of them! They may think they can stop you but it is too late because they cannot stop us.  Okay?  Our members should be in touch soon.  You should each be receiving correspondence from around the globe.  Your mailroom needs to be aware of the punishment for tampering with or censoring US Mail, should they "decide" you should not receive your mail.  The punishment is a federal offense and it is severe [refer to: 18 U.S.C. 1700-1703 enclosed].

If we do not hear from you in a timely manner, we will assume the worst, so please send us an acknowledgment of this letter in the enclosed as soon as possible

UPDATE 11/9/02

Here is a letter addressed to P.A.T.R.I.C.K. from Tonya Sullivan, on behalf of herself and her roommate Taniese Wilson.  It's the kind of letter we enjoy receiving for it tells us that our efforts to help Tonya and her roommate were successful.  I invite you all to write to Tonya so that the warden knows that we are out here caring about her.

It's been a while since I first contacted you and let me first say how thankful I am for all the help you have provided me in my situation.

The situation at MLCC has been resolved as far as myself and Taniese Wilson was concerned.  We were both transferred to T.P.F.W. in Nashville, TN, by Internal Affairs.  It is my understanding that Warden Wayne Douglas is being forced into resigning from his position after an investigation by the T.B.I. and he F.B.I.

I really hate that the prison system has become so corrupt.  Here at T.P.F.W. we have a warden who has no compassion for the inmates.  She has been quoted by the staff here, stating "It is cheaper to pay a wrongful death law suit than it is to provide adequate medical attention to these women."

Since she has become warden, she has removed 28 items from the commissary.  She has taken TDOC sweatshirts, removed all awnings from the sidewalks, and refuses to allow us to have ponchos.  She has taken gray t-shirts, boxers, and other items off our property list.  It never stops!

Is there anyone to help stand up for the incarcerated people?  Your organization has done so, and we thank you.

Just a few lines to say thank you and God bless you all.
