My Big TOE MY BIG TOE — by Physicist Tom Campbell
March 27, 2007

Lightning Strike Books Presents My Big TOE: My Big Picture Theory Of Everything.

The Trilogy includes these individual hardback books:
Book 1: Awakening
Book 2: Discovery
Book 3: Inner Workings
Based upon careful scientific research and logical deduction, this is a trilogy for all who have an interest in the nature of the reality in which they exist. My Big TOE is not only about scientific theory, function, and process - a discovery of Big Picture science - but also speaks to each individual reader about his or her innate capabilities. Readers will learn how to evolve their human potential far beyond the limitations of the physical universe.
My Big TOE is about life, purpose, personal significance, physics, evolution, and the reason why. The acronymTOE is a standard term in the physics community that stands for Theory Of Everything. Such a theory has been the Holy Grail of physicists for more than fifty years. My Big TOE delivers the solution to that scientific quest at the layman level with precision and clarity. This book is an adventure into the overlapping worlds of science, philosophy, and metaphysics. It is tightly analytical and logical as all good works of science and philosophy should be, while at the same time down to earth, easily understandable, and full of good humor. No leaps of faith or beliefs of any sort are required to get to where these books will take you.

Bloodthirsty Bitches and Pious Pimps of Power: The Rise and Risks of the New Conservative Hate Culture (Hardcover) — by Gerry Spence
January 2, 2007

Book Description — Ann Coulter. Laura Ingraham. Nancy Grace. Bill O'Reilly. Sean Hannity. Pat Robertson.
Their faces and voices are ubiquitous: the shrill shrieks and strident bellowings that drown out all debate and set every listener on edge, using God’s and Jesus’s names to justify oppression and ignorance, and spread falsehoods as if they were facts. They occupy the bully pulpit of the new American hate culture: the television and radio programs watched and heard by millions of people that shape the opinions and set the agendas of churches, school boards, political action groups, and ultimately those we have elected to represent all of us. Gerry Spence takes dead aim at the media demagogues who wield their power with such virulent effect. Using the full force of his own rhetorical skill –developed through decades as a legendary defense attorney– Spence exposes the people behind the words, and carves their arguments with the rough edge of his tongue. Anyone who has had it up to here will cheer to see these bullies met and conquered on their own turf.

From actual prison experience. "What is one of the differences in how we treat some of our Americans citizens incarcerated in America, and how we treat potential foreign terrorist incarcerated in Iraq? One of the answers, my dear gentle reader, is simple. In Iraq, at Abu Ghraib, we use the dogs to intimidate the potential terrorists, while, in America, we simply let the dogs bite the compliant, non-threatening inmates, in their cells, while they comply with the orders to lay on the floor."

This is a riveting, page-turning story of the years leading up to and through her husband, Jerry Kraig's, incarceration that has devastating consequences for her family. Praise for The Sentence: "Gene Kraig has written a tale which pushes the notion of family to a new level. It is a powerful, complex, devastating story beautifully told." This book broke my heart and, somehow, put it back together again." Eric Konigsbert, author of Blood Relation. Ominous Parallels "OMINOUS PARALLELS"
May 13, 2005

A book that needs to become popular again. This book was written in 1983. The author, Leonard Peikoff was 17 years old when he first hooked up with Ayn Rand (famous author of "Atlas Shrugged"). Piekoff journeyed on a venture to compare pre-Nazi Germany with American politics. The bottom-line conclusion is that both were the same; the only difference was that one country was overt about it and the other was covert about it. If you see a correlation to America today in this book, pay attention!

When Prisoners Come Home

Many people have asked about where to find books that deal with the problems of reentry to society after being in prison. Here are five selections recommended by one of our prison reform activists:

"Mothers everywhere weep for lost sons, and children everywhere long for absent parents, but the families of those on death row suffer without sympathy or comfort. In Capital Consequences, King thoughtfully describes the anguish of these families as an execution date draws near and challenges the belief that creating another saddened and grieving family is a legitimate consequence of the death penalty."

— Robin M. Maher, Esq., director, American Bar Association Death Penalty Representation Project

"There are few, if any, books like the one Ms. King has written. I hope that people will not... Read more

ACCESS DENIED For Reasons of National Security is the rest of their true life's story, which required 16 years for the authors to survive and 3 years for them to write. by Wilkie Collins

The Novel, the Case, and Wrongful Convictions (Hardcover) - January 16, 2006 - On the evidence of The Dead Alive, Scott Turow writes in his foreword that Wilkie Collins might well be the first author of a legal thriller. Here is the lawyer out of sorts with his profession; the legal process gone awry; even a touch of romance to soften the rigors of the law. And here, too, recast as fiction, is the United States' first documented wrongful conviction case. Side by side with the novel, this book presents the real-life legal thriller Collins used as his model-the story of two brothers, Jesse and Stephen Boorn, sentenced to death in Vermont in 1819 for the murder of their brother-in-law, and belatedly exonerated when their "victim" showed up alive and well in New Jersey in 1820.  Rob Warden, one of the nation's most eloquent and effective advocates for the wrongly convicted, reconsiders the facts of the Boorn case for what they can tell us about the systemic flaws that produced this first known miscarriage of justice-flaws that continue to riddle our system of justice today. A tale of false confessions and jailhouse snitches, of evidence overlooked, and justice more blinkered than blind, the Boorns' story reminds us of the perennial nature of the errors at the heart of American jurisprudence-and of the need to question and correct a system that regularly condemns the innocent.

In the Company of giants IN THE COMPANY OF GIANTS
by Paul J. Ciolino
February 14, 2006
The Ultimate Investigation Guide for Legal Professionals, Activists, Journalists & the Wrongfully Convicted (Paperback)
Book Description - Book "For those who care about justice, and especially those who want to do something about injustice, Paul Ciolino's In the Company of Giants is a must-read." — Rob Warden, Executive Director, Innocence Project, Northwestern University School of Law
"Paul Ciolino is old school. Right is right and wrong is wrong. With street smarts and a sixth sense for where to look, Ciolino won't let go until he has found what he is looking for, which is quite simply justice. And now he's written a highly readable, straight-ahead, tell-it-like-it-is guide to let us in on what he knows." — Alex Kotlowitz, Author of There Are No Children Here, Never a City So Real, and The Other Side of the River
Herein lies the root of the issue. Justice, morality, and freedom. This is what our fight is about. This is what it boils down to for me and I hope for you as well. Money is nice. Professional recognition by our peers is great. Warm and fuzzy media stories about our quest for justice are ego enriching. But, at the end of the day, it is about our most basic and dearest God inspired constitutional rights as Americans. This is what the wrongful conviction case is about, and this is why we find ourselves doing this work.
About the Author - Paul Ciolino is a life long resident of Chicago. His investigations have resulted in the full pardons of five death row inmates, and three more serving life sentences. His investigations resulted in the historical emptying of the entire death row population of Illinois in 2003. He is a regular contributor To CBS & FOX News. He is a U.S. Army Veteran and has been a private investigator since 1981.

The Girl with Yellow Flowers in Her Hair THE GIRL WITH YELLOW FLOWERS IN HER HAIR
by Lisa Walsh Thomas
August 15, 2004

Like a scene in an old Star Trek episode, it might be about whatever frightens us most, a changeling redefined by whatever appears to threaten us — widespread poverty, or maybe the loss of American freedoms. It might be about a collapse of accepted social structures, impending genocide. War, military coups, revolution, global economic collapse, any of the dangers to a way of life we have possibly failed to seriously analyze.
