Do We Have a
Right to Know?
  Americans were traumatized by the awful events of Sept. 11, 2001.  The terrible images burned into our souls.  First, deep shock.  Then, the need for retaliation and revenge.

  Now, almost a year afterward, it is time for reasoned inquiry... for questions to be asked.  Now, we expect our government to supply convincing and definitive answers to many puzzling questions.  And that is exactly the purpose of this special report, compiled by the staff of American Free Press (AFP).  To ask questions-questions that must be answered.  To demand answers--answers we have a right to know.

  If these questions are not answered by those who know or ought to know, the silence will be our sentence of doom.  Doom for our country, our historic liberties and ourselves.

Important Questions Are Ignored 
As Real Fact-Finders Are Vilified
  The major media in America have suppressed an allegation by Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-Ga.) that President George W. Bush and others in high places may have had advance knowledge of the impending Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and permitted them to happen.  McKinney first made public her concerns in a radio interview.  And while word of her comments spread like wildfire on the Internet and rocked official Washington, most Americans have never heard about these shocking allegations.

  "We know there were numerous, warnings of the events to come on Sept. 11," she said.  "What did this administration know and when did it know it, about the events of Sept. 11?"

  McKinney's words hinted that she may well be aware of allegations that Israel's intelligence agency, the Mossad, may have also been aware of the impending attacks: "Who else knew," she asked, "and why did they not warn the innocent people of New York who were needlessly murdered?  What do they have to hide?"  The outspoken Georgia woman went on to charge that "persons close to this administration are poised to make huge profits off America's new war."

  She pointed out that top former government officials--including the president's father, former President George H. W. Bush--were profiting from the ongoing "war on terrorism" (an outgrowth of the Bush administration's response to the September 11 attacks) through their association with the Washington, D.C. based Carlyle Group, an elite investment firm with widespread investments in the defense industry.  (For a rundown on Carlyle, see the story later in this special report)
  McKinney pointed out that "it is known that President Bush's father, through the Carlyle Group had--at the time of the attacks--joint business interests with the bin Laden construction company and many defense-industry holdings, the stocks of which have soared since Sept. 11."

CONSPIRACY THEORY?
  The April 12 issue of The Washington Post attempted to paint the controversy in partisan terms, headlining its report, "Democrat Implies Sept. 11 Administration Plot," and added that McKinney "seems to have tapped into a web of conspiracy theories circulating during the past six months among people who believe that the government is partially-or entirely-to blame for last year's attacks." 

   The Post did not mention that many people also believe that there is a possible Israeli connection, either in terms of foreknowledge or actual involvement.

  In a formal statement issued by her office, the congresswoman noted that "I am not aware of any evidence that President Bush or members of his administration have personally profited-from the attacks of 9-11," but added pointedly that "a complete investigation might reveal that to be the case."  For its own part, the Carlyle Group, the Bush administration and Republican leaders have tried to make light of the allegations and assert that they are partisan in nature.  But the bottom line is that the questions being raised by the congresswoman are questions that need to be addressed.  And they are not the only unresolved questions about 9-11 that have not been addressed, either by official investigations or by the major media, as you will see below.
 
Too Many Unanswered Questions Remain to Satisfy Serious Researchers About 9-11

     In the wake of the worst terrorist attack in American history on Sept. 11, 2001, many major questions remain not only unanswered, but there has been little or no effort to find the answers.  One must ask why?
     President Roosevelt appointed the Roberts Commission 11 days after the attack on Pearl Harbor.  After the assassination of President Kennedy on Nov. 22, 1963, President Johnson appointed the Warren Commission to investigate only 7 days later.
     At this writing, it has been nine months since the attacks.  Although nothing is known for sure about the perpetrators of the 9-11 crime, there has been no appointment of a high-level investigating committee and there has been no newspaper outcry that an investigation must be made.  Our first question is: Why?

2 The biggest question of all is: Who benefited? (cui bono)--the standard measure of establishing guilt for a crime.
3 In view of the $30 billion given annually to the FBI, the CIA and other U.S. "intelligence" agencies, why were these agencies completely unaware--or so they say--of a conspiracy to commit the 9-11 terror attacks?
4 The maximum passenger capacity of a Boeing 767 is 375.  Two were used. The capacity of a 757 is 289 and two of them were used. That's a total capacity of 1,328 passengers.  Prior to Sept. 11, transcontinental flights were heavily booked.  Why were the planes that crashed into the WTC and the Pentagon only carrying a total of 266 passengers--20 percent of their capacity?
5 Why did pilots flying the four jetliners not take evasive actions such as decompressing the cabin or rolling the planes over when they discovered that hijackers had taken over the planes and were killing passengers?
6 The morning of the terror attacks, original reports identified five planes as being unaccounted for.  Later, federal authorities downgraded the number to four.  What happened to the fifth jetliner and the hijackers on it?
7 At least a dozen Air Force and National Guard bases are within a few moments of flight time to the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.  Why weren't fighter planes scrambled as soon as it became obvious that the airliners had been hijacked?
8 The air traffic control system keeps track of all commercial flights and is in continuous radio contact with the pilots.  All of these communications are recorded.  It would have been immediately apparent to the controllers that something had gone wrong when the planes deviated from their course and radio contact ceased.  Why were jetfighters not scrambled to intercept the hijacked planes?  Why were transcripts of the pilots' communications with air traffic controllers not released to the public? 
9 American Airlines Flight 77, the jet which U.S. officials say crashed into the Pentagon, was hijacked shortly before 9 a.m.-approximately 15 minutes after the first plane, American Airlines Flight 11, crashed into the World Trade towers.  Why were no jetfighters scrambled to intercept the flight?
10 If United Airlines Flight 93 crashed in Pennsylvania as the result of a struggle between heroic passengers and the hijackers, what of witnesses who reported seeing a second plane following it?
11 The Pittsburgh Post Gazette reported on Sept. 13,2001:
"Workers at Indian Lake Marina [six miles from the place where United Flight 93 crashed] said that they saw a cloud of confetti-like debris descend on the lake and nearby farms minutes after hearing the explosion that signaled the crash [of the jetliner] at 10:06 a.m. Tuesday."  If this plane was not shot down and remained intact until hitting the ground, how could debris travel six miles from the crash site in minutes when there was only a 10 mph wind blowing?
12 In its Dec. 31/Jan. 7 issue, Newsweek magazine reported that on Sept. 11 a military officer in the White House announced that a threat had been received against the president's plane, Air Force One. When a top aide to the vice president's chief of staff asked, "How do we know?" the officer replied that the warning included the aircraft's code name, which is classified.  No one admits they know the origins of the threat.  Is the public supposed to believe that the alleged hijackers had access to top-level secret information?
13 Moments after the attack on Sept. 11, at 10 a.m., a Fox television news anchor made a shocking statement: "There is an explosion at the base of the building. . . white smoke from the bottom. . . something has happened at the base of the building. . . then, another explosion.  Another building in the WTC complex [has blown up] . . ." Did New York authorities order the rapid clearing of the WTC site to cover up that what this newsman saw? 
14 Could a fire fed by 18,000 gallons of jet fuel-much of which was blown from the building when the planes hit-melt the concrete-clad steel columns supporting each tower?
15 The editors of Fire Engineering magazine, the 125year-old journal of record among America's fire engineers and fire fighters, has blasted New York and federal officials for destroying evidence by immediately removing the wreckage of the towers without an investigation by qualified experts.  Why did the government undermine "a scientific investigation of the largest fire-induced collapse in world history"?
16 Some media outlets reported that two of the hijackers had bought tickets for flights scheduled after the Sept. 11 attacks. Why?
17 Why did Ahmed Alghamdi, who was allegedly on the United plane that hit the World Trade Center, also purchase tickets for a flight the next day from Dulles Airport in Washington D.C. to Saudi Arabia?
18 Why was Mohammad Atta booked on a Delta flight from Baltimore to San Francisco?
19 Why would hijackers, cunning enough to avoid creating a paper trail linking them directly to the 9-11 attacks, use credit cards with their correct names, which could be easily traced by law enforcement?  And why did they allow their drivers licenses with photos to be Xeroxed, yet no group has ever claimed credit for the attacks?
20 Evidence cited by authorities that the attacks were carried out by "Arab hijackers" included an alleged "collect" telephone call made by Barbara Olsen, the wife of U.S. Solicitor General Ted Olsen, from her seat on American Airlines Flight 77.  However, because telephones on American jetliners must be activated by credit card, it would have been impossible for Mrs. Olsen to have made the purported collect call.  How does the FBI account for this inconsistency?
21 How did the FBI compile a list of the 19 hijackers, including their photos, only two days after the attack?
22 FBI Director Robert Mueller acknowledged that the list of named hijackers might not contain their real names.  Doesn't everyone have to show a photo ID to claim a boarding pass?  Where was security?
23 At least six of the hijackers who are alleged to have committed suicide by crashing the planes into the WTC and the Pentagon are still alive. Why has the official list of hijackers not been altered to reflect this?
24 Several knowledgeable observers of the FBI investigation into the terror attacks have concluded that key evidence implicating Arabs in 9-11, such as Arabic flight training manuals and religious materials found at Boston's Logan airport and a passport of one of the alleged Arab hijackers found in the WTC rubble, appeared "contrived" and "placed."  Have these allegations been investigated to see if, in fact, evidence had been planted and by whom?
25 Why did one of the named hijackers leave an incriminating note in his car at the airport?  Why did he take his luggage with him on a suicide flight?
26 Don't reports of heavy drinking and cavorting by some of the hijackers in Boston, according to Reuters news service, make the hijackers look more like mercenaries carousing before a mission than pious religious fundamentalists about to meet their maker?
27 While the public is told that the "black boxes" of two of the hijacked planes, which are built to withstand crashes and fire, were never found, an alleged hijacker's passport was miraculously found on top of a pile of rubble, near the WTC. Who put it there?
28 How could documents incriminating bin Laden be found intact at the WTC, while two planes' "black boxes" were damaged beyond use?
29 Why were the Cockpit Voice Recorders in the "black boxes" on the Pentagon jetliner and on the Pennsylvania airliner completely blank?
30 What is the full story behind the five Israelis seen cheering and photographing the collapse of the WTC?
31 Have investigators questioned employees of the Israeli-owned and operated moving companies in the New York and New Jersey areas, which even the influential Jewish newspaper, Forward, conceded were most likely Mossad fronts, to find out what they knew about the attacks?
32 Details of a vast Israeli spy network of so-called "art students" operating throughout the United States some in close proximity to where purported hijackers were living-have been covered in AFP.  Is there a connection between the terror attack and the spy ring?
33 The FBI arrested at least 60 and as many as 120 Israelis following the terrorist attacks because they are suspected of having material knowledge about the attacks.  What information?
34 Why did Attorney General John Ashcroft allow a number of Israelis detained following the terror attacks to be released so they could leave the country and return to Israel?
35 Why have no American newspapers, other than AFP, published authoritative remarks indicating that only intelligence organizations of major countries could have planned and orchestrated the 9-11 attacks which required precise timing and knowledge of how to bypass security at U.S. airports?
36 Why did federal authorities and New York officials prevent people, including newspaper photographers, from photographing the ruins from certain angles in the weeks after 9-11?

 
The idea that Mohammad Atta's passport fluttered down to the ground unscathed, amidst the flames and falling rubble of the WTC, defies all logic.
 
37 Why did New York authorities prevent firemen from retrieving the bodies of their fallen comrades after the buildings collapsed? 
38 Have investigators probed whether technology such as that used in Northrop Grumman's "Global Hawk," a robotized military jet with a wingspan the size of a Boeing 737 which flew across the Pacific unmanned in April 2001, could have been used to facilitate the hijackings of the four jetliners?
39 Why do authorities and the U.S. media continue to ignore close business connections between the Bush family and the bin Laden Group, the billion-dollar multinational corporation owned and operated by the family of Osama bin Laden, despite the fact that newspapers around the world have repeatedly reported this salient fact?
40 What of the stock transactions made by a firm which used to employ a man who now sits in the executive director position at the CIA?
41 Why have U.S. media outlets neglected to report on the vast sums of money that stand to be made by companies closely linked to top-level Bush administration officials as a result of America's war on terror?  And what is the billion-dollar Carlyle Group ifnot a corrupt scheme to enrich insiders from the "war on terror"?
42 Who were the investors in companies such as Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and Merrill Lynch & Co. who sold thousands of "put" options in the three days before Sept. 11, betting that the stock of American Airlines and United Airlines would plunge?  Have investigators probed these blood money profiteers to find if, in fact, they knew something of the tragedy hours or even days before it happened?  And if so, why has this important news not been reported by any newspaper?
43 Was the U.S. military preparing war plans against Afghanistan months before the Sept. 11 attacks?
44 Is the Bush administration's "War on Terror" a plausible excuse to permit favored oil companies to take over and exploit an estimated $5 trillion in oil and gas reserves in the Caspian Basin?
45 By late October, U.S. authorities conceded that most of their promising leads for finding accomplices and some of their long-held suspicions about several suspects have unraveled, according to the New York Times.  Since more than 1,200 people have been arrested and more than 365,000 tips have been received from the public, why have there been no major breakthroughs in the supposedly largest U.S. criminal investigation in history?
46 Osama bin Laden has repeatedly denied that he had anything to do with the attacks.  The only evidence the United States has released to the public showing a link to the attacks are admissions made by bin Laden in a series of grainy, inaudible video tapes allegedly discovered by the CIA and the U.S. military in Afghanistan.  Translators widely disagree on the Arabic translation.  Why does the United States continue to pin the blame for 9-11 on Osama bin Laden?
47 There is documented history of secret plans by top government and Army officials to wage a war of terror on American citizens for the purpose of manipulating public opinion. Could this be happening today?
48 Why have elected and appointed leaders in Washington assailed and ridiculed a member of Congress for simply questioning why a full inquiry has not been done of the worst case of terrorism on U.S. soil in history?
49 In early August 2001, President Bush was warned by intelligence sources to expect a terror attack on America by Osama bin Laden.  Why were America's defense forces caught by surprise on Sept. 11?
50 Although the Mossad almost certainly knew the exact date and place of the attacks, why wasn't President Bush given this vital information?  For answers to many of these questions, please continue reading.

 
Former Pentagon Man Has Some Doubts About 9-11
     Former high-ranking Pentagon official Donn de Grand Pré has raised questions about the governments version of the 9-11 hijackings.

  How could a hijacker armed with a box cutter dispatch the crew, especially two strapping pilots up front in cramped quarters?  How were the towers--plus three other buildings--actually brought down?  These are among many important questions that have yet to be answered by the government's official 9-11 theory.
   Let's look at the pilots of those Sept. 11 flights: 
   John Ogonowski, captain of American Airlines Flight 11, took off from Logan Airport in Boston at 7:59 a.m., with 81 passengers and 11 crew and crashed into the World Trade Center at 8:45 a.m.
   Ogonowski was an Air Force fighter pilot in Vietnam and joined American Airlines 23 years ago.  He lived on his farm north of Boston which was purchased and cultivated by his Polish grandfather 100 years ago.  Ogonowski was big, burly and physically strong.  His copilot, Tom McGuinness, was also in excellent condition.
   LeRoy Homer, first officer of United Airlines Flight 93, departed Newark for San Francisco at 8:01 a.m. with 39 passengers and seven crew.  Many people believe that it was taken out by an Air Force F -16.   It crashed in Somerset County, Pa., at 10:10 a.m.  Homer, muscular and agile, was a former Air Force pilot.
   Victor Saracini, another former fighter pilot of the Vietnam era, was captain of UAL Flight 175; which left Boston for Los Angeles at 8:14 a.m., with 56 passengers and nine crew but crashed into a second WTC tower at 9:03.  Saracini was in superb physical shape, with a quick and alert mind.		    Chic Burlingame was a graduate of Naval Academy, flew F-4s in Vietnam, left the Navy 28 years ago and joined American Airlines.  Burlingame was captain of AA Flight 77.   He departed Washington Dulles at 8:10 a.m. and crashed into the Pentagon at 9:41.  Burlingame was a health nut, jogger and exceptionally competent pilot.
   No one, whether armed with razor or handgun, is going to take the controls away from these guys, much less overpower two of them.
   Their absolute best defense would have been to roll the airplane over, using the eight-click "barrel roll." At fourth click, you are inverted; at eighth click, you are once again upright and straight and level.  The total maneuver time is 10 seconds.  A forced takeover could never have happened inside one of their cockpits.

     At least six men the FBI says were part of the ring of 19 hijackers who seized passenger jets with box cutters on Sept. 11 and crashed them into the World Trade Center buildings and the Pentagon are "alive and well," report Mideast officials.

     Information Times, an on-line publication, reported that Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal told the Arabic Press after meeting with President George W. Bush on Sept. 20: "It was proved that five of the names included in the FBI list had nothing to do with what happened."

    According to The Orlando Sentinel, the Saudi Arabian embassy confirmed that four of the five mentioned by Al-Faisal--Saeed Alghamdi, Mohand Al-shehri, Abdul aziz Alo mari and Salem Alhazmi--are not dead and had nothing to do with the heinous terror attacks in New York and Washington.

     Saudi officials at the embassy were unable to verify the whereabouts of the fifth accused hijacker, Khalid Al-Mihdhar. However, Arab newspapers say Al-Mihdhar is still alive.

NUMBER SIX
     A sixth person on the FBI's list, Saudi national Waleed Alshehri, is living in Casablanca, according to an official with the Royal Air Moroc, the Moroccan commercial airline.

     According to the unnamed official, Alshehri lived in Dayton Beach, Fla., where he took flight training at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.  Now he works for a Moroccan airline.

     On Sept. 22, Associated Press reported that Alshehri had spoken to the U.S. embassy in Morocco.

     The FBI acknowledges that the identities of some of the purported hijackers are still in question because some of the suspects' names on flight rosters had been reported stolen months before the attacks took place.

     Why the FBI still lists these men as suspected hijackers who were killed during the terrorist assault remains a mystery.

Gaping Holes Exposed In Federal 9-11 Probe
Scan the "mainstream" media carefully and you may find items relating to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks that actually contribute to the growing body of questions that are being raised about the official version of what happened that tragic day.

     Occasionally even Establishment newspapers and magazines will publish a few grains of truth. Through careful reading of the "elite" media, one may catch details that-considered in context-shed a different light on the "official" story about some event in the news; in this case, the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

     For example, several recent examples of items found in Newsweek, published by the powerful Meyer-Graham empire (owners of The Washington Post) are worth noting.

     On Jan. 7 Newsweek described as "fantastic," among other things, the statement by the Egyptian father of alleged Sept. 11 hijacking ringleader Mohammed Atta, that American authorities had captured five Israelis celebrating after the World Trade Center attacks. Newsweek described the senior Atta's concerns as a "rant" that "as ifby repeating it often enough he could make it true."

     However, the Newsweek writer was evidently unaware that even The New York nInes-as long ago as Oct. 8-had acknowledged that there were five Israelis taken into custody in the New York area immediately after the Sept. 11 attacks, an interesting item first unveiled nationally in the United States by AFP in its Oct. 1 issue.

     Yet, as AFP noted in several consecutive articles (Dec. 17, Dec. 24 and Jan. 7/14) the story of these five Israelis has taken on a life of its own.  It turns out that as many as 60 Israelis are in U.S. custody, at least some of whom are suspected by the FBI of having material evidence about the Sept. 11 attacks, including likely foreknowledge of the impending attacks. (See this article for more.) 

     Despite all the media hoopla over the indictment of Moroccan-born Frenchman, Zacarias Moussaoui, even Newsweek admitted (buried in the final paragraphs of a report in its Dec. 24 issue) that the indictment of Moussaoui "does not allege any contacts between Moussaoui and any of the 19 other hijackers. 

     Newsweek quoted a Justice Department official as saying that "there's no direct testimony in this case.  It's all circumstantial." Justice has no explanation as to why Moussaoui seemed to constantly be acting alone in the midst of the so-called "conspiracy" while all the other hijackers met and traveled together.

     Although Newsweek claims the Feds have intelligence linking Moussaoui to one of the hijackers, "prosecutors left that point out of the indictment, for reasons that are unclear."

     On Dec. 24, Arab- and Muslim-hating Newsweek writer Jonathan Alter, who is a fervent supporter of Israel, admitted in Newsweek that until the release of the purported "smoking gun" video in which Osama bin Laden is said to have claimed advance knowledge of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks that "for all of the exertions of Thny Blair and American authorities, evidence of bin Laden's prior knowledge of Sept. 11 had been circumstantial until the tape." 

     In truth, for nearly two months, Blair and even the Bush administration continued to claim they had "evidence" of bin Laden's involvement and/or foreknowledge.  Blair's "evidence" was, in fact, largely a compendium of quotations by bin Laden about other acts of terror for which he was said to be responsible along with saber rattling statements critical of the United States and Israel.

     When former Pakistani intelligence chief Hamid Gul asserted his informed opinion that President Bush himself believed at one point on Sept. 11 that traitors, perhaps within the Air Force, had played a part in the hijackings and that they were part of a more wide-ranging attempt at a coup d'etat orchestrated by Bush-hating partisans of Israel, critics dismissed Gul as a Muslim sympathizer of bin Laden, failing to point out that Gul's actual comments presented Bush himself as a victim (or potential victim) of the Sept. 11 attacks.

     However, in its Dec. 31/Jan. 7 issue, Newsweek revealed that on Sept. 11, a military officer in the White House communications room announced that a threat had been received against the president's official plane, Air Force One.  When the top aide to the vice president's chief of staff asked, "How do we know?" according to Newsweek, the officer replied that the warning included the aircraft's code name, which is classified.  According to Newsweek, "The threat was almost surely bogus-though to this day White House officials say they do not know where it came from." Newsweek quoted White House National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice as saying, "I don't think we'll ever know," where the threat came from. Newsweek also reported that there was another report from the Federal Aviation Administration of another plane-about 30 seconds away--heading straight for the capital. Yet, says Newsweek: "The plane was a phantom of the fog of war; it never existed."

     The truth is that in the wake of the terrorist attacks, numerous independent American researchers have begun to raise serious questions about the circumstances surrounding the failure of the Air Force to respond.  This is another question relating to the mysteries of Sept. 11 that just won't go away.  Other mainstream media voices also provide facts and insights that-considered in the context of the overall media coverage of the events of Sept. II-shed new light on the truth (or how the media is covering up the truth).

     Despite all of the media hoopla about bin Laden's wide-ranging al Qaeda network, The Washington Post reported on Nov. 5 that European investigators believe that the group that is alleged to have carried off the Sept. 11 attacks was "tightly insulated" and "had little if any contact with other al Qaeda terror cells in Europe."  The Post said that hijackers were "elite, insulated," and that the question remained, according to one French terrorism expert, Roland Jacquard, as to who was in control: "Who gives the order?" asked Jacquard.  Suggesting that Mohammed Atta was the ringleader, Jacquard says Atta "probably" gave the order.  However, Jacquared noted, "But Atta also received instructions.  And there is someone between Atta and the mountain" [in Afghanistan where bin Laden was said to have made his lair]."

     The Post didn't make the suggestion that perhaps this "elite, insulated" group--which didn't seem to have any contact with the rest of the al Qaeda network--may have been under the control of agents of Israel's Mossad.  AFP has reported in detail how Israeli intelligence has financed "Islamic fundamentalist" and "Arab terrorist" groups to advance Israel's strategic aims (related article) and on Oct. 1, AFP provided a history of how Israel has staged assassinations and terrorist attacks and blamed them on "Arabs," "right-wing extremists" and others.  Even the pro-Israel Washington Times reported on Sept. 10 that high-ranking U.S. Army officers believe that Israel's Mossad "has [the] capability to target U.S. forces and make it look like a Palestinian/Arab act,"--a point noted in AFP on Oct. 1. 

    Although the major media continues to bellyache about an alleged "Muslim rumor" that 4,000 Israelis (or Jews in general) did not show up for work at the World Trade Center the day of the terrorist attack, what has been lost in the shuffle is that it was The Jerusalem Post (Israel's leading newspaper) that instigated the rumor when it featured an article on Sept. 12 reporting in a headline that "Thousands of Israelis missing near WTC, Pentagon," specifically citing the now-infamous figure of 4,000.

    And despite media proclamations that there is no truth to the "Muslim rumor" that Israelis did have advance warning of the attacks, Newsbytes, a Washington Post subsidiary, reported on Sept. 27 that "Instant Messages to Israel Warned of WTC Attack." A similar report also appeared in the Sept. 29 issue of Israel's Ha'aretz newspaper.

     Although the major media has stoked the fires of anti-Palestinian hatred in the wake of Sept. 11, comparing Palestinian suicide bombers to the purported "Arab suicide bombers" who directed airliners into the WTC and the Pentagon, only The Sunday Times of London dared to note the fact on June 24 that following a devastating explosion that killed 22 Israelis outside a Tel Aviv discotheque, it was discovered that the taxi driver, Rashid Al-Nadi, who took the suicide bomber to that disco was a Palestinian who, according to Palestinian sources, "had been working with Israeli police intelligence since 1999, giving them information about Palestinian activities in the area."

 
Did Insiders Misdirect Military Reaction to 9-11
Nobody in authority has dared to ask why the U.S. military failed to respond on the morning of Sept. 11.

     Serious questions have been raised about the response of this nation's leaders to the first attack on the Trade Center towers on Sept. 11, all from the public record.

     Why did the military fail to scramble planes over Washington when the second explosion at the World Trade Center made it obvious that that a terrorist attack was under way?

     Any why are there so many conflicting "official explanations" of the failure?

     At 9:06 a.m. on that fateful day, New York police broadcast that "this was a terrorist attack-notify the Pentagon," the New York Daily News reported."

     American Forces Press Service quoted a Navy officer inside the Pentagon:

    "We were watching the World Trade Center on television.  When the second plane deliberately dove into the tower, someone said, 'the World Trade Center is one of the most recognizable symbols of America. We're sitting in a close second.' "

     Nearly an hour after the New York attack, terrorists crashed their plane into the Pentagon as military planes that were supposed to protect D.C. at Andrews Air Force Base--10 miles from the nation's capital--sat idle.

     Despite the warning from New York, Newsday quoted Air Force Lt. Col. Vic Warzinski, a Pentagon spokesman: "The Pentagon was simply not aware that this aircraft was coming our way, and I doubt prior to Thesday's event anyone would have expected anything like that here." 

     How could the Pentagon be "not aware?" The London Sunday Telegraph reported on Sept. 14: "Within minutes of the attack American forces around the world were put on one of their highest states of alert--Defcon 3, just two notches short of all-out war--and F-16s from Andrews Air Force Base were in the air over Washington, D.C."

     Many in the mainstream media reported that Andrews has no fighter planes or role in protecting Washington but The San Diego Union-Tribune got it right on Sept. 12: "Air defense around Washington is provided mainly by fighter planes from Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland near the District of Columbia border.  The D.C. Air National Guard is also based there and equipped with F-16 fighter planes. . . . But the fighters took to the skies over Washington only after the devastating attack on the Pentagon."

     NBC Nightly News reported on Sept. 11: "It was after the attack on the Pentagon that the Air Force then decided to scramble F-16s out of the D.C. National Guard Andrews Air Force Base to fly cover--a protective cover over Washington."

     While the mainstream media mostly ignored the fact that Andrews Air Force Base is supposed to protect Washington, USA Today gave conflicting reports on Sept. 17: "Andrews Air Force Base, home to Air Force One. . . had no fighters assigned to it."  And in a later edition: "The District of Columbia National Guard maintained fighter planes at Andrews Air Force base. . . but those planes were not on alert and not deployed." 

 

 
Evidence Shown Unreliable In WTC Terrorism Investigation
     Much of the case against the Muslim terrorists in the Trade Center attacks is based on copies of a letter considered by experts to be a fraud.

     It has been more than seven months since four passenger planes were involved in an atrocious act of terrorism on American soil and yet no hard evidence as been presented associating the prime suspect, Osama bin Laden, with the events of Sept. 11.  A case has been built, largely in the media, blaming Muslim terrorists for hijacking the passenger planes and flying them into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. The much-awaited scientific evidence from the planes' flight data recorders, the "black boxes," has yet to be presented.
     An FBI spokesman told American Free Press on Oct. 11 that only two black boxes had been retrieved from the Pentagon and the Pennsylvania crash sites but the information they contain has not been released, although AFP was told that it would be--"eventually." 
     In the eye of the public, much of the government's case against the 19 Muslim Arabs named as suspects rests on copies of a suspicious and possibly spurious five page letter, hand-written in Arabic, which has turned up in three different locations.  However, the document itself raises more questions than it answers, leading one expert to say that it could be "the greatest falsification in history." 		      A law enforcement official described the letter to the press as "a spiritual instruction manual" giving the terrorists step-by-step instructions for their suicide missionand preparing them spiritually for death.  The document contained a mission checklist and instructions for mental and spiritual preparation, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity, according to USA Today on Oct. 2.
     One copy was found in Mohammed Atta's suitcase, which "mysteriously" was left behind at the airport in Portland, Maine. Another copy was found in the wreckage in Pennsylvania and a third was found in the car of one of the suspects.
     Muslim scholars and specialists question the authenticity of the letter saying the phraseology and style are "un-Islamic." "This is not the way Muslims speak or think, there is a mysterious element here, and the FBI knows it for sure," Mohammed Hurub, a Muslim scholar from Bethlehem said.
     There are serious questions and problems with a number of foreign and peculiar phrases and ideas contained in the text of the letter.
     If the letter, which is described as "part theological, part mission statement" is genuine, "then the men who murdered more than 7,000 innocent people believed in a very exclusive version of Islam---or were surprisingly unfamiliar with their religion," Middle East expert and journalist Robert Fisk says.
     The problems first arise in the opening lines of the letter, "In the name of God, the most merciful, the most compassionate. . . in the name of God, of myself, and of my family."  No Muslim would include his family in such a prayer, Fisk says, but would mention the Prophet Mohammed immediately after he mentioned God.

    Furthermore, the letter lacks any mention whatsoever of the specific political reasons for the planned actions that could tie the suspects to the agenda advocated by Osama bin Laden. Why is there no mention of the political reasons that would compel these men to take such drastic action?
     Although the original letter has not been found, the copied text reads "remind yourself that in this night you will face many challenges.  But you have to face them and understand it 100 percent. . ."
     American scholars raise doubts about the use of "100 percent" noting that it is "hardly a theological term to be found in a religious exhortation," according to Fisk.
     The letter urges the reader to recite the morning prayer and then goes on to quote from it.  A devout Muslim would hardly need to be told of his duty to say his prayers and would certainly not need to be reminded of the text of those prayers.  It is as if a Christian would have to be reminded of The Lord's Prayer.
     In some respects similar to the suspicious "diaries" of Lee Harvey Oswald and Sirhan Sirhan, there are many other problems with this letter which is now being used as "evidence" to tie the suspects together in a religiously-motivated conspiracy.
 
Fire Engineering magazine has charged that the federal investigation into the collapse of the World Trade Center is a farce.
Fire Engineers Challenge Fed's Trade Center Collapse Theory
A respected professional magazine read by firefighters and engineers is calling the investigation into the collapse of the World Trade Towers a farce and a sham.

     Fire Engineering magazine, the 125-year old journal of record among America's fire engineers and firefighters, recently blasted the investigation being conducted by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) of the collapsed World Trade Center as a "a half-baked farce." 
     Fire Engineering's editor, William Manning, issued a "call to action" to America's firefighters and fire engineers in the January issue asking them to contact their representatives in Congress and officials in Washington to demand a blue ribbon panel to thoroughly investigate the collapse of the World Trade Center structures. 
     Fire Engineering frequently publishes technical studies of major fires and is read in more than 50,000 fire departments and schools of fire engineering across the nation.
     Manning challenged the theory that the towers collapsed as a result of the crashed airliners and the subsequent fuel fires, saying, "Respected members of the fire protection engineering community are beginning to raise red flags, and a resonating theory has emerged: The structural damage from the planes and the explosive ignition of jet fuel in themselves were not enough to bring down the towers."
     No evidence has been produced to support the theory that the burning jet fuel and secondary fires "attacking the questionably fireproofed lightweight trusses and load-bearing columns directly caused the collapses," Manning wrote, adding that the collapses occurred "in an alarmingly short time."
     Because no "real evidence" has been produced, the theory that the twin towers collapsed due to fire "could remain just unexplored theory," Manning said.
     Manning visited the site shortly after the collapse and his photographs appeared in the October issue of FireEngineering.  None of the photos show the load-bearing central steel support columns standing or fallen, which raises the question, what caused these columns to disintegrate?
     The steel from the site must be preserved to allow investigators to determine what caused the collapse, Manning said. "The destruction and removal of evidence must stop immediately."
     "For more than three months, structural steel from the World Trade Center has been and continues to be cut up and sold for scrap.  Crucial evidence that could answer many questions about high-rise building design practices and performance under fire conditions is on the slow boat to China," Manning said, "perhaps never to be seen again in America until you buy your next car."
     "Such destruction of evidence," Manning wrote, "shows the astounding ignorance of government officials to the value of a thorough, scientific investigation of the largest fire-induced collapse in world history."
     Nowhere in the national standard for fire investigation does one find an exemption allowing the destruction of evidence for buildings over 10 stories tall, Manning said.  "Clearly, there are burning questions that need answers.  Based on the incident's magnitude alone, a full-throttle, fully-resourced, forensic investigation is imperative.  The lessons about the buildings' design and behavior in this extraordinary event must be learned and applied in the real world.
     "Did they throwaway the locked doors from the Triangle Shirtwaist fire?  Did they throwaway the gas can used at the Happyland Social Club fire?  Did they cast aside the pressure-regulating valves at the Meridian Plaza fire?  Of course not.  But essentially, that's what they're doing at the World Trade Center."  In a separate editorial, "WTC Investigation? A Call to Action," by the magazine's technical editor, Prof. Glenn Corbett of John Jay University in New York City, and two other expert fire engineers who specialize in high-rise buildings, the FEMA-Ied investigation was called "uncoordinated" and "superficial."
    "The World Trade Center disaster demands the most comprehensive, detailed investigation possible," the writers said. "No event in our entire fire service history has ever come close to the magnitude of this incident."  Given the magnitude of the disaster "you would think we would have the largest fire investigation in world history," the editorial says. "You would be wrong.  Instead, we have a series of unconnected and uncoordinated superficial inquiries. No comprehensive 'Presidential Blue Ribbon Commission.'  No top-notch National Transportation Safety Board-like response.  Ironically, we will probably gain more detailed information about the destruction of the planes than we will from the destruction of the towers.  We are literally treating the steel removed from the site like garbage, not like crucial fire scene evidence."
     A group of engineers from the American Society of Civil Engineers, commissioned by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, is reported to be studying "some aspects of the collapse," but not all, according to Manning and others. The engineers' investigation, they say, has not looked into all aspects of the disaster and has had limited access to documents and other evidence.  "Except for the marginal benefit obtained from a three-day, visual walk-through of evidence sites conducted by ASCE investigation committee members--described by one close source as a "tourist trip"--no one's checking the evidence for anything," Manning said.  "As things now stand and if they continue in such fashion, the investigation into the World Trade Center fire and collapse will amount to paper- and computer-generated hypotheticaIs."
Top professionals in the firefighting arena have harshly criticized what they call "the destruction of evidence" in the World Trade Center collapse, namely the removal of debris(like that shown above) from the site.
    Engineers have also complained that they have been shackled with bureaucratic restrictions that prevented them from examining the disaster site, interviewing witnesses and requesting crucial information like recorded distress calls to police and fire departments.  "This is almost the dream team of engineers in the country working on this, and our hands are tied," one engineer who asked not to be identified told the llmes.  Members of the team of engineers have been threatened with dismissal for speaking to the press.
     "FEMA is controlling everything," the anonymous engineer complained.
     "Comprehensive disaster investigations mean increased safety," Manning said. "They mean positive change.  NASA knows it.  The NTSB knows it.  Does FEMA know it?
    "No. Fire Engineering has good reason to believe that the 'official investigation' blessed by FEMA and run by the American Society of Civil Engineers is a half-baked farce that may already have been commandeered by political forces whose primary interests, to put it mildly, lie far afield of full disclosure," he wrote.
Mossad Link to 1993 WTC Attack Should Raise Red Flag for 9-11
Eight years ago a prescient article appeared in The Village Voice, which bears noting in the aftermath of the terror attacks of Sept. 11.

     Here are the facts about the Mossad connection to the first attack on the World Trade Center (WTC) revealed by investigative reporter Robert I. Friedman in the Aug. 3, 1993 article in The Village Voice, an independent New York weekly that has occasionally dared to raise criticisms of Israel. 
     Friedman reported that Ahmad Ajaj, a 27-year-old West Bank Palestinian held in federal custody for conspiring to bomb the World Trade Center, may have been a Mossad mole, according to Israeli intelligence sources.
     Ajaj was arrested at Kennedy Airport on Sept. 1, 1992, after he arrived on a Pakistani International flight from Peshawar canoymg a forged Swedish passport and bomb-making manuals.  He was taken into custody, and subsequently pleaded guilty to entering the country illegally.  Ajaj's traveling companion was Rarnzi Ahmed Yousef, an Iraqi who law enforcement sources say is a "key player" in the WTC bombing.
     Although the FBI identified Ajaj as a senior intifada terrorist, with links to Hamas, the Palestinian Islamic fundamentalist organization, Kol Ha'ir, a respected Hebrew-language weekly published in Jerusalem, said Ajaj was never involved in intifada activities or with Hamas or even the Palestine Liberation Organization. 
     Instead, according to Kol Ha'ir, Ajaj was actually a crook arrested in 1988 for counterfeiting U.S. dollars out of East Jerusalem. Ajaj was convicted of counterfeiting and then sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison. 
     According to Friedman, writing in The Village Voice:  "It was during his prison stay that Mossad, Israel's CIA, apparently recruited him, say Israeli intelligence sources.  By the time he was released after having served just one year, he had seemingly undergone a radical transformation."
     Friedman reports that Ajaj had suddenly become a devout Muslim and an outspoken hard-line nationalist.  Then, Ajaj was arrested for smuggling weapons into the West Bank, supposedly for EI Fatah, a subdivision of the PLO.  But Friedman's sources in Israeli intelligence say that the arrest and Ajaj's subsequent deportation were "staged by Mossad to establish his credentials as an intifada activist. Mossad allegedly 'tasked' Ajaj to infiltrate radical Palestinian groups operating outside Israel and to report back to Tel Aviv.  Israeli intelligence sources say that it is not unusual for Mossad to recruit from the ranks of common criminals."
     After Ajaj's "deportation" from Israel, he showed up in Pakistan where he turned up in the company of the anti-Soviet mujahedeen rebels in Afghanistan.
     This in itself could point further toward Ajaj working for the Mossad, for according to Covert Action Information Bulletin (September 1987) the funding and supply lines for the mujahedeen was not only the "the second largest covert operation" in the ClKs history, but it was also, according to former Mossad operative Victor Ostrovsky (writing in The Other Side of Deception) under the direct supervision of the Mossad.
     After Ajaj's ventures with the mujahedeen, he popped up in New York and purported to befriend members of a small so-called "radical" clique surrounding Sheikh Abdel-Rahman who was accused of being the mastermind of the World Trade Center bombing.
     On Feb. 26, 1993, the day of the first World Trade center bombing, Ajaj was "safe" in federal prison serving a six-month sentence for entering the country on a forged passport.  Later, he was indicted for conspiracy in the WTC bombing. Said Friedman: 
If Ajaj was recruited by Mossad, it is not known whether he continued to work for the Israeli spy agency after he was deported. One possibility, of course, is that upon leaving Israel and meeting radical Muslims close to the blind Egyptian sheikh, his loyalties shifted.
     Friedman reports a second frightening possibility: 
Another scenario is that he had advance knowledge of the World Trade Center bombing, which he shared with Mossad, and that Mossad, for whatever reason, kept the secret to itself. H true, U.S. intelligence sources speculate that Mossad might have decided to keep the information closely guarded so as not to compromise its undercover agent.
     Friedman broke amazing ground with these revelations that were ignored by the mainstream press.

     The final desperate words of a flight attendant on one of the airliners which crashed into the World Trade Center on Sept. 11 captured in a telephone conversation with an air-traffic controller contradict official evidence that has been released on the men suspected of hijacking that jetliner, reports the British press.
     On Sept. 21, the BBC reported that the transcript of a phone call made by Madeline Amy Sweeney aboard American Airlines Flight 11 to Boston air traffic control reveals that the flight attendant identified the hijackers and their seat numbers.
     However, according to the BBC, the seat numbers were not the seats of the men who the FBI says were responsible for the hijacking.		      In addition, the BBC reports that Sweeney identified only four hijackers, whereas FBI officials have released the names of five men they suspect were involved in the terror attack.
     The FBI names the suspected terrorists as Waleed M. Alshehri, Wail Alshehri, Mohamed Atta, Abdulaziz Alomari and Satam Al Suqami.
     At least three of the men-Waleed M. Alshehri, Wail Alshehri and Abdulaziz Alomari-accused of flying the suicide mission are still alive, according to Mideast and western media.  The father of Mohamed Atta, who is believed to have been the ringleader, claims that his son was kidnapped and is still alive.
     This report-combined with the findings that at least six, possibly even seven, of the purported terrorists are still alive and had nothing to do with the attacks--could cast doubt on the supposedly open-and-shut case that members of a particular radical Islamic group carried out the heinous terrorist assaults on Sept. 11.
     The report also raises the question as to whether, as pointed out by Seymour Hersh in a recent issue of The New Yorker, false evidence was planted.

     Top U.S. Army analysts believe Israel's intelligence agency, the Mossad, is "ruthless and cunning," "a wildcard" that "has [the] capability to target U.S. forces and make it look like a Palestinian/Arab act."  This eye-opening assertion about America's supposed closest ally was reported in a front page story in The Washington Times on September 10, just one day before the terrorist attacks in America that are being blamed on "Arabs." 
     The Times reported that this serious charge by U.S. Army officers against the Israelis appeared in a 68-page paper prepared by 60 officers at the U.S. Army's School for Advanced Military Studies, a training ground for up-and-coming Army officers.  Then, just hours after the terrorist tragedies, a well-known pro-Israel analyst, George Friedman, proclaimed Israel as the primary beneficiary.  "The big winner today, intended or not, is the state of Israel," wrote Friedman, who said on his intemet website at stratfor.com that "There is no question... that the Israeli leadership is feeling relief in the wake of the terrorist attack on America as a result of the benefits that Israel will glean.  Considering the U.S. Army's questions about possible provocations by Israel, coupled with this noted intelligence analyst's suggestion that Israel was indeed "the big winner"on Sept. 11, a previous report in the Aug. 3, 1993 issue of  The Village Voice that Israel's Mossad was perhaps involved in (or had foreknowledge of) the previous "Arab terrorist" attack on the World Trade Center, takes on new dimensions.
     The events of Sept. 11 do require careful attention in light of the fact that Israel has had a long and proven record ill planting "false flags"--orchestrated acts of terrorism for its own purposes and pinning those atrocities on innocent parties. 
     Perhaps the best-known instance in which Israel used a "false flag" to cover its own trail was in the infamous Lavon Affair.  It was in 1954 that several Israeli-orchestrated acts of terrorism against British targets in Egypt were carried out.  Blame for the attacks was placed on the Muslim Brotherhood, which opposed the regime of Egyptian President Gamul Abdul-Nasser.  However, the truth is found in a once-secret cable from Col. Benjamin Givli, the head of Israel's military intelligence, who outlined the intended purpose behind the wave of terror:
     [Our goal] is to break the West's confidence in the existing [Egyptian] regime.  The actions should cause arrests, demonstrations, and expressions of revenge.  The Israeli origin should be totally covered while attention should be shifted to any other possible factor.  The purpose is to prevent economic and military aid from the West to Egypt.
     Considering this well-documented but little known historical incident, it is no wonder that even our own U.S. Army could raise serious questions about the possibility of Israeli intelligence committing acts of terror and planting evidence pointing to "the Arabs" rather than the real perpetrators.

An unlikely source has confirmed an AFP exclusive:  Israeli Mossad operatives were among the five young Israelis seen videotaping the Sept. 11 attack on the World Trade Center.

   In its Oct. 1,2001 issue, which went to press on Sept. 20, nine days after the 9-11 tragedy, American Free Press was the first national news source to make the connection between Israeli intelligence and the terrorist attacks.  For doing so, AFP was accused of "peddling anti-Israel conspiracy theories."   But events prove AFP right.
     At the time, CBS anchor Dan Rather appeared on David Letterman's Late Show immediately after the 9-11 attacks and said a "cell" of America-hating Arabs had been spotted across the river videotaping the World Trade Center tragedy and celebrating on the roof of a building, Rather was dead wrong about the identity of those celebrating the tragedy.
     AFP revealed that the "Arab" celebrants were actually a group of Israelis and now, in its March 15 issue, America's oldest and most prestigious Jewish newspaper, Forward, has confirmed that these Israelis were connected to Israel's intelligence agency, the Mossad.  What information about those five Israelis that did leak out into the media was consistently cited as "proof' that the Muslims were generating disinformation to discredit Israel.
     For example, the Sept. 28-30 issue of USA Today cited the story of the five Israelis (calling them "Jews" and not identifying their nationality) and attempted to suggest that the story was a myth.  Describing it as one of the "unsubstantiated rumors that implicate Israel" in the 9-11 attacks and one of which "many in the Muslim world are endlessly chewing over and recycling," the so-called "rumor" turned out to be true. 
     Now Forward has published information that confirms and elaborates on the details first entered into the worldwide news record by AFP correspondent Christopher Bollyn.  Here's what Bollyn reported in the Oct. 1, 2001 issue of AFP:
     At least three different groups of Israelis-some of whom may have ties to Israel's intelligence agency, the Mossad-were taken into custody after eyewitnesses reported seeing them celebrating in several locations across the river from lower Manhattan in New Jersey.
     In two cases, the men were reportedly videotaping the initial kamikaze attack on the World Trade Center in New York. All of the detained Israelis are connected to Israeli-owned moving companies operating out of New York and New Jersey.
     One group was reported to have been in Liberty State Park in Jersey City, another was seen in Liberty Park in Union City, and a third was apprehended on the roof of an Israeli-owned moving company.
     Citing reports in New Jersey and New York newspapers, AFP pointed out that two groups of Israelis were stopped in vans belonging to a New Jersey-based moving company, Urban Moving Systems--one group of three and one group of five.
     Eyewitnesses had told police of seeing these Israelis in Union City and Jersey City, both of which have parks named "Liberty"--more than five miles apart.  The third group was spotted on the roof of Urban Moving Systems itself, which is based in Weehawken, N.J., and from which there is a dead-on view of the site of the World Trade Center.
     A New York Fire Department source told AFP that each of the three sites would provide a unique photographic perspective of the WTC disaster, suggesting the Israeli agents were working on a photographic record of the WTC tragedy.
     The New York Post, reporting as early as Sept. 13 about the arrest of the five men, noted that "the feds declined to release the men's identities or nationalities."  The Post also reported that "Officials at Urban Moving claimed to be unaware of what had happened."
     Scattered media reports mentioned that five "Middle Eastern" men had been seen "celebrating" the WTC attack, leaving people with the impression that the men were Arabs or Muslims.  But they were Israelis employed by Israeli-owned moving companies.
     The five suspects who have been officially listed are brothers Sivan and Paul Kurzberg, Oded Ellner, Omer Marmari and Yaon Shmuel.  The others remain unidentified and were perhaps never arrested after being stopped by police.
     AFP noted that in reporting on the arrest of the five Israelis, The Bergen Record of New Jersey revealed on Sept. 12 that "sources close to the investigation said they found other evidence linking the men to the bombing plot."
     The source told the Record that "There are maps of the city in the car with certain places highlighted.  It looked like they're hooked in with this.  It looked like they knew what was going to happen when they were at Liberty State Park."
     The Record reported that "sources also said that bomb-sniffing dogs reacted as if they had detected explosives.
     According to an Israel National News report on Oct. 26, the Israel detainees were suspected of "plotting to blow up" a New York bridge, although this allegation never reached most Americans who were being told of "Muslim plots" against Americans.
     AFP pointed out that on Sept. 18, the mother of one of the detainees told an Israeli newspaper, Ha'aretz, that the FBI had questioned her son as to whether he was an agent of Israel's intelligence agency, the Mossad.  Why the FBI would suspect that Mossad agents may have been involved in the so-called "Arab terrorist" attack is a question ignored by the mainstream media.
     In a follow-up Sept. 15, the Bergen Record reported:
     An employee of Urban Moving Systems, who would not give his name, said the majority of his coworkers are Israelis and were joking on the day of the attacks. "I was in tears," the man said. "These guys were joking and that bothered me. These guys were like, 'Now America knows what we go through.' "
     On Oct. 8 The New York Times finally reported on the five Israelis but treated it as some sad quirk of fate for five innocent men.  The Times did not report--as did AFP--that there may have been more than one Israeli-connected moving company involved and that there were actually some 13 Israeli nationals taken into custody immediately after the bombing. 
     Israeli-connected moving companies seem to proliferate in the events surrounding the 9-11 tragedies.  It was not only in the New York-New Jersey area that Israelis working for Israeli-owned moving companies were taken into custody and suspected of involvement in possible terrorist-related activities.

On Dec. 24 AFP reported that:

      On Oct. 17, the Pulitzer Prize-winning Pottstown (Pa.) Mercury reported that "two men whom police described as Middle Eastern" were detained in the Pottstown area (which is just northwest of Philadelphia) after being found with "detailed video footage of the Sears Tower in Chicago"--the tallest building in the world, widely mentioned as a possible terrorist target.
     The Mercury did not identify the men's nationality, but their names were Moshe Elmakias and Ron Katar.  "Moshe" is a Hebrew name which is not likely to have been bestowed on a Muslim or an Arab.  A woman named Ayelet Reisler, in their company, was also detained. She had a German passport in her name and medication in a different name. 
     The two men worked for a company known as "Moving Systems Incorporated. "
     Supporters of Israel protested that it was "just a coincidence" that several different suspiciously-acting groups of Israelis would be working for moving companies and have detailed videos of the WTC disaster and the Sears Tower, another potential terrorist target.  AFP has since learned that there is a connecting network of Israeli-owned moving companies alongside VMS and Moving Systems, Inc. that have operated under such names as Advance Moving System, AAA Van Lines, State to State Van Lines, America's Best Movers and Quality Moving Storage.
     Another connected "moving company" is Moshe's, which maintains a huge brick warehouse just outside the Holland funnel in Jersey City, with a clear view of what was once the WTC.  The 15-story building-solid brick with no windows--employs hundreds of young Israelis.
     On Dec. 17 AFP warned that there was much more to the story concerning the Israeli detainees who were taken into custody in New York City:
     Attorney General John Ashcroft has released an Israeli suspect in the Sept. 11 terrorist events who "had trouble" with a seven-hour polygraph test administered by the FBI--but who "did better on a second try."  The suspect still flunked both times.
     That remarkable admission appeared in the Nov. 21 issue of The New York Times. In fact, the Times reported, the suspect, Paul Kurzberg "refused on principle to divulge much about his role in the Israeli army or subsequently working for people who may have had ties to Israeli intelligence."  Yet, Ashcroft sent Kurzer home to Israel.
     The Forward, a Jewish newspaper, reported on Nov. 23 that "top-ranking Israeli diplomats" had intervened with Ashcroft on behalf of Kurzer and four other young Israelis-evidently all former members of the Israeli Army--who had been taken into custody by the FBI in New Jersey after being seen acting suspiciously in the aftermath of the World Trade Center attack.
     The Times said that witnesses had seen Kurzer and his four colleagues "going to unusual lengths to photograph the World Trade Center ruins" and, significantly, "making light of the situation."
JOHN ASHCROFT
Giving a "free pass" to Israeli terror suspects.
     But there's much more to the story than just these suspects. On Nov. 23 The Washington Post admitted that among a total of some 60 young Israeli Jews picked up by the FBI in the wake of the terrorist attacks, there were at least a handful actually being held on suspicion of involvement in the terrorist acts.
     Post staff writer John Mintz pointed out that while most of the Israelis arrested and detained since Sept. 11 were held on immigration charges and not suspected of involvement in terrorism, there were exceptions.  Wrote Mintz:
     In several cases, such as those in Cleveland and St. Louis, INS officials testified in court hearings that they were "of special interest to the government," a term that federal agents have used in many of the hundreds of cases involving mostly Muslim Arab men who have been detained around the country since the terrorist attacks.
     An INS official who requested anonymity said the agency will not comment on the Israelis.  He said the use of the term "special interest" means the case in question is "related to the investigation of Sept. 11."
     All of the 60 Israeli detainees, according to the Post, were supposedly "observing a time-honored tradition in their country--touring the world after their mandatory service in the Israeli military."  The Post said "a number of them had served in counter-terrorist units in Israel." 
     Although referring to Israel as a "close U.S. ally in the fight against terrorism," the Post pointed out that although one Israeli detainee, Liron Diamant, said that he and his friends had first been mistaken as Arabs, the FBI conducted an "hours-long" interrogation and that they were "questioned in detail about their Israeli military service."
     Now, as a consequence of the new admissions by Forward, we are learning much more about the one specific group of five Israelis connected to Weehauken-based Urban Moving Systems (UMS) who were picked up in New Jersey.
     UMS was "a moving company with few discemable assets" that closed up immediately after the federal authorities began investigating its activities, Forward reported. The owner of VMS, Dominic Otto Suter "fled to Israel" after being questioned by the FBI.  Forward said one of its sources admits that VMS was a Mossad-connected operation:
     According to one fonner high-ranking American intelligence official, who asked not to be named, the FBI came to the conclusion at the end of its investigation that the five Israelis arrested in New Jersey last September were conducting a Mossad surveillance mission and that their employer, Urban Moving Systems of Weehawken, N.J., served as a front.
     After their arrest, the men were held in detention for two-and-a-half months and were deported at the end of November, officially for visa violations.
     However, a counterintelligence investigation by the FBI concluded that at least two of them were Mossad operatives, according to the former American official, who said he was regularly briefed on the investigation by two separate law enforcement officials.
    "The assessment was that Urban Moving Systems was a front for the Mossad and operatives employed by it," he said. "The conclusion of the FBI was that they were spying on local Arabs but that they could leave because they did not know anything about 9/11."  However, he added, the bureau was "very irritated because it was a case of so-called unilateral espionage, meaning they didn't know about it."
     Forward said the FBI, the Justice Department and the Immigration and Naturalization Service refused to discuss the case.

     Forward reported that its source said that after the United States confronted the Israeli government, Israel privately admitted that the Urban Moving Systems operation was a Mossad front. Citing its U.S. intelligence source, Forward said:

     The nature of the investigation changed after the names of two of the five Israelis showed up on a CIA-FBI database of foreign intelligence operatives, he said. At that point, he said, the bureau took control of the investigation and launched a Foreign Counterintelligence Investigation, or FCI.
     FBI investigations into possible links to the Sept. 11 attacks are usually carried by the bureau's counterterrorism division, not its counterintelligence division. "An FCI means not only that it was serious but also that it was handled at a very high level and very tightly," the former official said.  That view was echoed by several former FBI officials interviewed.
     Clearly, AFP was on the mark all along.  There was a Mossad connection to the events of 9-11--one that has yet to be fully explained--although the article in Forward, in many respects, read very much like an attempted cover-up.
     The Forward story about the five Israelis was woven into a larger story describing controversy surrounding totally separate reports exposing espionage by so-called Israeli "art students."  And although a spokesman for Attorney General John Ashcroft-long known for his fervent affinity for Israel--dismissed the "art student" affair as an "urban myth," Forward effectively exposed Ashcroft's prevarication when it admitted that:
     In March 2001, the federal National Counterintelligence Executive issued a warning urging employees to report all contact with people describing themselves as Israeli art students.  It said some had gone to private residences of senior U.S. officials under the guise of selling art.
     "These individuals have been described as aggressive," the warning said.  "They attempt to engage employees in conversation rather than giving a sales pitch."
     However, the warning added that there may be two groups involved, one with an "apparently legitimate money-making goal while the second, perhaps a non-Israeli group, may have ties to a Middle Eastern Islamic fundamentalist group."
     Forward's suggestion that two such groups were operating (and that one may have been a "non-Israeli group" presumably posing as Israelis) raises questions.  Is a group of Israelis operating in the United States posing as Arabs--a possibility first broached by AFP on Dec. 24?
     Forward defends Israel: "Far from pointing to Israeli spying against U.S. government and military facilities . . . the incidents in question appear to represent a case of Israelis in the United States spying on a common enemy, radical Islamic networks suspected of links to Middle East terrorism."
     Forward contends that tensions stem not because the United States believed the Israelis were spying on Americans but because the Israelis had failed to advise the United States that they were engaged in spying against the Arab terrorists on American soil. 
Although even The New York Times admitted on Oct. 8 (see above) that five Israelis were taken into custody after acting suspiciously on Sept. 11, media sources continue to suggest it was an "urban myth" the event took place.  Recently Richard Cohen, of The Washington Post, describd the story that Israelis were seen celebrating the attack on the World Trade Center as a vicious, libelous, Muslim-instigated rumor. 
 
Suppressed Report Corroborates Spy Ring
There is strong evidence Israeli intelligence operatives on U.S. soil almost certainly had specific advance knowledge of the impending terrorist attacks on the United States but America's "ally," Israel, did not report this information to American authorities.
     This shocking possibility first reached a national audience in the Dec. 17 issue of the Washington, D.C. based American Free Press which actually went to press on Dec. 7, 2001.  (See AFP's online website at: americanfreepress.net).
     On Dec. 17, AFP correspondent Michael Collins Piper noted that buried within a story in The Washington Post on Nov. 23 was the fact that a number of Israelis taken into custody by federal authorities after the Sept. 11 tragedy were indeed suspected of having material knowledge relative to the terrorist attacks.
     Then, on Dec. 12, five days after the AFP story was published, Carl Cameron of Brit Hume's Special Report on Fox News broke his report on a wide-ranging Israeli espionage ring on U.S. soil stating flat out that there was evidence these Israelis were surveilling the 9-11 terrOrists prior to the Sept. 11 tragedy.  On Dec. 24, AFP summarized Cameron's report in which he stated in part:
     There is no indication the Israelis were involved in the Sept. 11 attacks, but investigators suspect that they may have gathered intelligence about the attacks in advance and not shared it.  A highly-placed investigator told Fox News there are "tie-ins," but when asked for details flatly refused to describe them.  "Evidence linking these Israelis to 9-11 is classified.  I cannot tell you about evidence that has been gathered. It is classified information."
     During the segment, host Brit Hume asked Cameron:  "What about this question of advance knowledge of what was going to happen on 9-11? How clear are investigators that some Israeli agents may have known something?"  Cameron responded:  "It's very explosive information, obviously, 		 and there's a great deal of evidence that they say they have collected.  None of it necessarily conclusive.  It's more when they put it all together.  A bigger question, they say, is 'How could they not have known?' [That is] almost a direct quote [from the investigators]."
     The Fox report indicated that prior to Sept. 11 as many as 140 other Israelis had been detained or arrested in what was described by Cameron as "a secretive and sprawling investigation into suspected Israeli espionage" According to Cameron:
     Investigators are focusing part of their efforts on Israelis who said they are art students from the University of Jerusalem or Bezalel Academy and repeatedly made contact with U.S. government personnel by saying they wanted to sell cheap art or handiwork.
     Documents say they "targeted" and penetrated military bases, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, dozens of government facilities and even secret offices and unlisted private homes of law enforcement and intelligence personnel.
     After the Fox report, there was an angry response from the Israeli lobby in America.  The Dec. 21 issue of Forward, one of the most prestigious Jewish newspapers in America, reported that Fox and Cameron were "under fire" from supporters of Israel.  Forward also gloated that "the rest of the American media" had "barely noted" the Fox news reports.
     On March 4, 2002, the story pioneered by AFP and Fox News popped back up when the famous French daily, Le Monde, carried an update, relying largely on reporting by an independent investigation conducted by the Paris-based internet newsletter, Intelligence Online (IO), which, in turn, had been directed by the sources made available to Fox.

Israeli Company Mum About WTC Pullout
WTC investigators should follow the money trail.  It could provide critical information about the Sept. 11 terror attacks.

     While an Israeli real estate magnate from Australia insured his 99-year lease on the retail space of the World Trade Center against terrorism, one of Israel's biggest companies pulled out of the north tower just days before Sept. 11.

     AFP has learned from a reliable source in the shipping industry that Zim American Israeli Shipping Co., Inc. broke the lease when it vacated the rented offices on the 16th and 17th floors of the north tower of the World Trade Center shortly before the Sept. 11 disaster.  According to the source, Zim's WTC office space had been leased until the end of the year and the company lost $50,000 when it suddenly pulled out in the beginning of September.

     The parent company, Zim Israel Navigation Co., is nearly half-owned by the state of Israel, the other half held by Israel Corp. Zim is one of the world's largest container shipping companies, operating an international network of shipping lines.

     AFP repeatedly contacted Zim American Israeli Shipping Co., Inc. at its new American headquarters in Norfolk, Va., to inquire about the company's pulling out of its WTC lease early, but calls were not returned.

     Despite Zim's desire to relocate, the company didn't stay very long in Norfolk.  Several months after the destruction of its former New York offices in the WTC attack, Zim moved back to New York.  Yet, the circumstances of its New York to Norfolk to New York adventure seem to have been ignored.  Why?

99-YEAR LEASE
     An Israeli businessman from Australia, Frank Lowy, had recently acquired the 99-year lease for the 425,000 square foot retail portion of World Trade Center before the WTC attacks of Sept. 11, reported The Jerusalem Post on Sept. 12.

     Lowy is chairman and founder of Westfield Holdings, and the manager of Westfield America Trust, which has a 57 percent stake in Westfield America Inc.  In April 2001, Westfield America agreed to pay $400 million for the lease on the complex though only $133 million was paid; the rest was to be made in ground lease payments. 

The parent company, Zim Israel Navigation Co., is nearly half-owned by the state of Israel, the other half held by Israel Corp.

     Lowy is the second wealthiest man in Australia and was recently ranked as the 209th wealthiest man in the world by Forbes magazine.  Westfield is the fourth-largest shopping mall owner, with operations in Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom and New Zealand.

     Westfield was insured against terrorist attacks and its earnings will not be materially affected. 

     In a statement to the Australian Stock Exchange the retail chain said that "investment in the retail component of the World Trade Center is fully insured for both capital and loss of income," adding "the insurance coverage includes acts of terrorism."
 
Who Was in Charge of Security at WTC?
A former CIA official has detailed how Israeli intelligence tried to infiltrate security at facilities which were tied to the Sept. 11 terror attacks that rocked America.

     In light of new questions being raised by Fire Engineering magazine about the actual cause of the collapse of the World Trade Center (WTC) towers, it is important to note that as long ago as Oct. 1, 1989, the now-defunct New American View newsletter (published by former high-ranking CIA official Victor Marchetti) reported that an Israeli firm, Atlas Security, Ltd--described as "an Israeli intelligence front organization"--was attempting to penetrate the New York Port Authority, the agency responsible for the operation of not just JFK and LaGuardia airports, but also Newark airport (from which two ill-fated 9-11 airliners were launched) and the World Trade Center.
     Following the 1993 WTC bombing, in the March 15, 1993, issue of his newsletter, the ex-CIA official reported that sources in the New York Port Authority had told him that the Mossad front had been trying to "worm its way in" for more than a year.
     Marchetti also cited another former CIA senior official as saying, "I can understand why the Mossad has targeted the Port Authority.  Penetration of the security component at the main port of entry to the U.S. would provide the Israelis with limitless opportunities, both for clandestine operations and just plain mischief.  The Mossad knows as well as we do that one of the classic ways to undermine your enemy--or to manipulate your ally--is to penetrate his police apparatus."
     The question of precisely who was directly responsible for security at the WTC after the Port Authority ceded its control of the WTC operations shortly before the Sept. 11 tragedy could point toward "inside" involvement (and explosives inside the structure) causing it to collapse in a manner that Fire Engineering magazine deems unlikely.
The corporate media are controlled by individuals with divided loyalties, dual-citizenships.
Why Would Our 'Best Ally' Fund Arab Terrorism?
Why would Israel provide covert support for Islamic fundamentalist extremists? The answer to this provocative question points toward a dirty little secret that the major media in America is keeping under wraps.

     There is a solid record of evidence pointing toward a longtime--albeit little-known--role by Israel's intelligence service, the Mossad, in providing financing and tactical support for the very "Muslim extremists" presumed to be Israel's worst enemies. The truth is that Muslim extremists have proven useful (if often unwitting) tools in advancing Israel's own geopolitical agenda.
     Although many Americans are now aware that Osama bin Laden's early efforts against the Soviets in Afghanistan were sponsored by the CIA, the media has been reticent to point out that this arms pipeline--described by Covert Action Information Bulletin (September 1987) as "the second largest covert operation" in the CINs history--was also, according to former Mossad operative Victor Ostrovsky (writing in The Other Side of Deception), under the direct supervision of the Mossad. 
     Ostrovsky noted: "It was a complex pipeline since a large portion of the mujahadeen's weapons were American-made and were supplied to the Muslim Brotherhood directly from Israel, using as carriers the Bedouin nomads who roamed the demilitarized zones in the Sinai."
     Former ABC correspondent John K. Cooley, in Unholy Wars: Afghanistan, America and International Terrorism, provides some confirmation for Ostrovsky's allegations.  He writes:
     Discussion of the input of outsiders to training and operations in Mghanistan would be incomplete without mention of Iran and the State of Israel. Iran's major role in training and in supply is a matter of historical record. As for Israel, the evidence is much sketchier. . . .
     Whether or not units of Israel's elite special forces trained the Muslim warriors, who would soon turn their guns against Israel in Muslim organizations like Bamas, is a well-guarded Israeli secret.
     Several Americans and Britons who took part in the training program have assured the author that Israelis did indeed take part, though no one will own to having actually seen, or spoken with, Israeli instructors or intelligence operatives in Afghanistan or Pakistan.
     What is certain is that of all the members of the anti-Soviet coalition, the Israelis have been the most successful in concealing the details and even the broad traces of a training role; much more than the Americans and British. . . .
     In addition, it should be noted that Sami Masri, a former insider in the infamous--supposedly "Islamic"--Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI) told journalists Jonathan Beaty and S. C. Gwynne (both of Time magazine) that BCCI "was financing Israeli arms going into Afghanistan.   There were Israeli arms, Israeli planes, and CIA pilots.  Arms were coming into Afghanistan and [BCCI was] facilitating it." 
     However, there's much more to the story of the Mossad's ties to the so-called Islamic terror networks that are the stuff of American nightmares today. 

 
     In his follow-up book, The Other Side of Deception, ex-Mossad figure Victor Ostrovsky unveils the disturbing fact that the Mossad had a secret history of supporting radical Islamic groups for its own purposes. 
     Pointing out that Arab- and Muslim-hating hard-liners in Israel and its Mossad believe that Israel's survival lies in its military strength and that "this strength arises from the need to answer the constant threat of war," the Israeli hard-liners fear that any peace with any Arab state could weaken Israel and bring about its demise.  In that vein, Ostrovsky writes:
     Supporting the radical elements of Muslim fundamentalism sat well with the Mossad's general plan for the region. An Arab world run by fundamentalists would not be a party to any negotiations with the West, thus leaving Israel again as the only democratic, rational country in the region.
     Even columnist Jack Anderson, a devoted news conduit for the Israeli lobby, has bragged of Israel's skill: He wrote as long ago as Sept. 17, 1972:
     The Israelis are also skillful at exploiting Arab rivalries and turning Arab against Arab. The Kurdish tribes, for example, inhabit the mountains of northern Iraq.  Every month, a secret Israeli envoy slips into the mountains from the Iranian side to deliver $50,000 to Kurdish leader Mulla Mustafa al Barzani.  The subsidy insures Kurdish hostility against Iraq, whose government is militantly anti-Israel.
     In an April 25, 1983, column Anderson pointed out that one secret State Department report speculated that if Palestine Liberation Organization leader Yasser Arafat were to be dislodged, "the Palestinian movement will probably disintegrate into radical splinter groups, which, in combination with other revolutionary forces in the region, would pose a grave threat to the moderate Arab governments."  Then, according to Anderson's account, the State Department reported:
     Israel seems determined to vent this threat. . . and can be expected to greatly expand its covert cooperations with revolutionary movements.
     Anderson added that "two well-placed intelligence sources" had explained that this meant that it was in Israel's interests to "divide and conquer" by setting various Palestinian factions against one another.  This would then help destabilize all of the Arab and Islamic regimes in the Middle East.  Anderson then stated flat out that the sources said: "Israel had secretly provided funds to Abu Nidal's group."		      British journalist Patrick Seale, an acknowledged authority on the Middle East, devoted an entire book, entitled Abu Nidal: A Gun for Hire, outlining and documenting his thesis that Nidal was largely a surrogate for the Mossad all along.
     Today Nidal (reportedly in retirement in Egypt) has been replaced by Osama bin Laden in media headlines as "the world's most wanted terrorist."
     And, like Nidal's efforts to divide the Arab world, particularly the Palestinian cause, bin Laden's activities seem to have a congruence of interests with those of Israel, although this is something that the major media has not been ready to acknowledge.
     While bin Laden has never attacked an Israeli or Jewish target, even The Washington Post pointed out on Sept. 30 that bin Laden's primary goal is bolstering "a destabilizing brand of Islamic fundamentalis~ in a long list of existing Middle East and Central Asia regimes." 
     That same Post article revealed that--contrary to the general public view that somehow bin Laden is in league with favorite Israeli targets such as Iraq's Saddam Hussein and Libya's Muammar Qadaffi--a former bin Laden associate testified that bin Laden was quite hostile to both the Iraqi leader and the Libyan leader.  This again is quite in line with Israel's attitude toward the two Arab icons.
     And in light of recent questions about the real nationalities and identities of the purported hijackers who brought down the four planes that created havoc on American soil on Sept. 11, Anderson's aforementioned Sept. 17, 1972, column pointed out something that should be noted:
     Israeli agents--immigrants whose families had lived in Arab lands for generations--have a perfect knowledge of Arab dialects and customs. They have been able to infiltrate Arab governments with ease.
     As American Free Press reported on Oct. 22, there are some doubts as to whether those who have been identified as the hijackers on Sept. 11 were the hijackers.  Writing in The New Yorker on Oct. 8, veteran investigative journalist Seymour Hersh, pointed out that "many of the investigators believe that some of the initial clues about the terrorists' identities and preparations, such as flight manuals, were meant to be found."       Hersh has also noted that a senior military officer had suggested to him that "a major foreign intelligence service might also have been involved."
     Hersh did not point any fingers anywhere, but a reader familiar with Hersh's past history of pinpointing intrigue by Israel's Mossad could perhaps read between the lines and guess as to which foreign nation Hersh's source might, however obliquely, be alluding.
"Arab Terrorist" a Mossad Tool
Before Osama bin Laden became the media's favorite "Arab terrorist," Abu Nidal held the claim to that title.  However, in 1992 famed journalist Patrick Seale, one of Britain's most distinguished Middle East specialists, published an explosive book (shown at right), entitled Abu Nidal: A Gun for Hire, exposing the remarkable facts suggesting Nidal was actually a willing tool of Israeli intelligence.  Meanwhile, Walid Jumblatt, Lebanon's Druze leader is saying flat out that Osama bin Laden is an "American agent" pointing to bin Laden's background in the CIA-sponsored, Mossad-directed supply line to the Afghan rebels fighting Soviet occupation.  Jumblatt is not the first source to raise questions about for whom bin Laden really works.

    After seven months of non-stop declarations by U.S. government spokesmen that there exists solid proof tying 19 Muslim men to plotting Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, FBI Director Robert Mueller has now admitted quite the opposite.
     That 19 Muslim men who have apparently disappeared have been named as the hijackers is not in doubt.
     What is in doubt is whether those 19 men were actually plotting anything, either individually or together. 
     The amazing possibility remains that others carried out the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, using the identities of the 19 Muslims who have been assigned guilt in the tragedy.
     In an April 19 speech delivered to the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco, Mueller said that the purported hijackers, in his words, "left no paper trial."  The FBI director stated flatly:
     In our investigation, we have not uncovered a single piece of paper--either here in the United States or in the treasure trove of information that has turned up in Afghanistan and elsewhere--that mentioned any aspect of the Sept. 11 plot.
     In describing Mueller's evidence fiasco, Los Angeles Times reporters Erich Lichtblau and Josh Meyer, whose article was reprinted in The Washington Post on April 30, note that: 
     Law enforcement officials say that while they have been able to reconstruct the movements of the hijackers before the attacks--all legal except for a few speeding tickets--they have found no evidence of their actual plotting.
     The Times reporters acknowledge that Mueller's comments "offer the FBfs most comprehensive and detailed assessment to date of its investigation, remarkable as much for what investigators have not found as for what they have."
     The FBI director explained away the absence of evidence by making the disingenuous assertion that the hijackers used "meticulous planning, extraordinary secrecy and extensive knowledge of how America works" to conceal their scheme.
     Mueller made this claim despite the fact that in the immediate wake of the Sept. 11 attacks, a variety of U.S. officials and media sources announced, almost instantaneously, that there was firm evidence not only that these 19 Muslim men were agents of Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda "network" but that they were indeed the individuals who hijacked the doomed flights on Sept. 11.
     Mueller seems to forget that early government and media reports loudly hyped "discoveries"-letters and other documents-in the luggage and personal belongings of the presumed hijackers which "proved" that they were on a "mission for Allah," etc etc.  Now Mueller's comments seem to contradict everything that's been said.
     Government spokesmen defend the cited lack of evidence as somehow proving how professional the hijackers were, even in the face of the publicly-acknowledged scandal surrounding the fact that two of the hijackers got into the United States even though they were on a CIA terrorist "watch list."
     Skeptics may ask: If the 19 Muslims weren't the hijackers, then who were?  On Dec. 24 AFP published a "controversial" article pointing in another direction entirely.		      Citing a formerly classified CIA report on Israeli intelligence, AFP noted that not only does Israel have a unique history of using forged and/or stolen passports, but also that Israel has frequently used Arabic-speaking Jews (posing as Arabs) in intelligence operations.
     In fact, there is the possibility that someone was pretending, prior to Sept. 11, to be Muhammad Atta.  This would recall the strange appearances of multiple "Lee Harvey Oswalds" in various places doing suspicious things prior to the JFK assassination.
     For example, although The Washington Post reported on May 1 that longstanding claims that Atta met in Prague with a purported Iraqi intelligence turn out not to be true, some sort of meeting did take place, except that, according to the Post, "they were no longer certain that Atta was the person" in question.
     The Post cited a Bush administration official as saying that the person believed to be Atta "may be different from Atta."
     So, although there was someone who was later identified as Atta meeting in Prague, according to the Post, "there was no evidence Atta left or returned to the U.S." at the time he was supposedly meeting in Prague.
     Contrary to popular perception, the concept of Israeli suicide bombers is not extraordinary: Leaders of the right-wing Jewish Defense League have talked about such attacks.
     In addition, as AFP noted on Feb. 4, a popular Israeli film, Time of Favor, recently released in the United States, tells the story of a radical right-wing Jewish terrorist planning a suicide bombing against a Muslim target.  In fact, such radicals now dominate Israel's intelligence service at the highest levels.

     The major media has dismissed it as a "personal matter" --possibly involving "a second individual"--that caused L. Britt Snider to suddenly resign as staff director of the joint House and Senate intelligence committee investigation of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
     On the basis of those claims that it's a "personal matter," Snider's departure is being brushed aside, despite the fact that even The Washington Post admitted on April 30 that Snider's departure is "setting back the inquiry into the intelligence community's failure to detect or prevent the worst terrorist operation in U.S. history."
     There are more than a few who suspect Snider was actually somehow forced out, that there was some intrigue afoot behind the scenes that led to his sudden resignation.  After all, only a month ago Snider's work was being praised by Sen. Bob Graham (D-Fla.) and Rep. Porter J. Goss (R-Fla.), the chairmen, respectively, of the Senate and House intelligence committees.
PRIMARY OPPOSITION
     From the beginning, the primary opposition to Snider's tenure at the 9-11 inquiry came from the Israeli lobby.  At the time Snider was appointed, one of the Israeli lobby's chief Washington voices, Frank Gaffney Jr., president of the Center for Security Policy (CSP), bitterly attacked Snider. 
     Gaffney asserted that Snider's appointment "sets the stage for a whitewash of epic proportions" and charged that Snider's close professional relationship with CIA Director George Tenet was a conflict of interest.
     Hostility from the advocates of Israel may have something to do with the fact that the Israeli lobby has long been hostile to Tenet, whereas, in contrast, Gaffney has been associated, in particular, with what has been described as "extreme right-wing Israeli causes."		      Gaffney is a functionary for the CSP's founder, Israeli lobby kingpin William Kristol.
     Kristol is one of the leading American advocates for the hard-line policies of the Sharon regime in Israel.
     The Israeli lobby has always adjudged Tenet (who is often mistaken for being Jewish) to be part of an element inside the American military, intelligence and diplomatic community that remains suspicious of Israel despite Israel's otherwise heavy-handed influence among "bought and paid for" politicians on Capitol Hill.
     Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), another of Israel's stalwart allies, has also been a vocal critic of Tenet and may have played a part in the internecine intrigue that resulted in the departure of Tenet's ally, Snider, from his 9-11 investigation post.  Publicly, Shelby has joined the chorus attempting to place the blame for the oft-discussed "intelligence breakdown" on the CIA.
     In the meantime, Snider's replacement, Rick Cinquegrana, another intelligence community veteran is no comfort to those who may want to get to the bottom of Israeli foreknowledge or possible involvement in the 9-11 attacks.
     Previously, Cinquegrana was on the staff of the select House committee chaired by Rep. Christopher Cox (R-Calif.) that investigated transfers of U.S. nuclear and defense technology to Red China.
     Although it is known that the Cox investigation uncovered solid evidence of Israeli complicity, the final public version of the Cox report was heavily censored in respect to Israel's crimes.
     New allegations in the book Seeds of Fire, by veteran journalist Gordon Thomas regarding Israeli collaboration with Red China in the theft of American nuclear secrets, coupled with Thomas's allegation that Israel's ally, Red China, was the secret sponsor of the 9-11 attacks on the United States, are among issues that need to be investigated.  That an ally of George Tenet, who has been a quiet critic of Israel's secret alliance with Red China, should now have been forced out of his 9-11 investigative post is obviously cause for concern.
     In addition, since Israeli intelligence is known to have thoroughly infiltrated Arab and Muslim networks throughout the Middle East and has also been accused in various media reports both in the United States and Europe of most likely having been monitoring the activities of the alleged 9-11 hijackers while on American soil, these are questions that the investigation should also address.

     BERLIN--In Germany, where war plans for Afghanistan were already being discussed in July and where several of the "Arab hijackers" lived and studied, intelligence experts say the terror attacks of Sept. 11 could not have been carried out without the support of a state secret service.
     Eckehardt Werthebach, former president of Germany's domestic intelligence service, Verfassungsschutz, told American Free Press that "the deathly precision" and "the magnitude of planning" behind the attacks would have needed "years of planning."
     Such a sophisticated operation, Werthebach said, would require the "fixed frame" of a state intelligence organization, something not found in a "loose group" of terrorists like the one allegedly led by Mohammed Atta while he studied in Hamburg.
     Many people would have been involved in the planning of such an operation and Werthebach pointed to the absence of leaks as further indication that the attacks were "state organized actions."
     Andreas von Bülow served on the parliamentary commission which oversees the three branches of the German secret service while a member of the Bundestag (German parliament) from 1969 to 1994, and wrote a book Im Namendes Staates ("In the Name of the State") on the criminal activities of secret services.
MOSSAD ANGERED
     Von Bülow told AFP that he believes that the Israeli intelligence service, Mossad, is behind the Sept. 11 terror attacks. These attacks, he said, were carried out to turn public opinion against the Arabs and boost military and security spending.
     "You don't get the higher echelons," von BUlow said, referring to the "an:hitectural structure" which masterminds such terror attacks. At this level, he said, the organization doing the planning, such as Mossad, is primarily interested in affecting public opinion.		      The architectural level planners use corrupt "guns for hire" such as Abu Nidal, the Palestinian terrorist who von Bülow called "an instrument of Mossad," high-ranking Stasi (former East German secret service) operatives, or Libyan agents who organize terror attacks using dedicated people, for example Palestinian and Arab "freedom fighters."
     The terrorists who actually commit the crimes are what von Bülow calls "the working level," such as the 19 Arabs who allegedly hijacked the planes on Sept. 11.
     "The working level is part of the deception," he said.
     "Ninety-five percent of the work of the intelligence agencies around the world is deception and disinformation," von Bülow said, which is widely propagated in the mainstream media creating an accepted version of events. "Journalists don't even raise the simplest questions," he said, adding, "those who differ are labeled as crazy."
     Both Werthebach and von Bülow said the lack of an open and official investigation, like congressional hearings, into the events of Sept. 11 was incomprehensible.
     Horst Ehmke, who coordinated the German secret services directly under Prime Minister WIlli Brandt in the 70s, predicted a similar terrorist attack in his novel, Torches of Heaven, published last year, in which Turkish terrorists crash hijacked planes into Berlin.
     Although Ehmke had long expected "fundamentalist attacks," when he saw the televised images from Sept. 11, he said it looked like a "Hollywood production." 
     "Terrorists could not have carried out such an operation with four hijacked planes without the support of a secret service," Ehmke said, although he did not want to point to any particular agency.
     "The most important thing in the struggle against terrorists, who are abusing religion, is the battle for the soul of the people and the nations," Ehmke said.  "If this isn't resolved successfully, the 21st century could be bloodier than the last."
     A former Stasi agent who had warned the German secret service of  terror attacks in America between Sept. 10-20 told AFP that a high ranking Stasi chief named Jürgen Rogalla, who is "an airplane terror specialist," was involved in the attacks along with Abu Nidal.
     Both Nidal and Rogalla work with the Mossad, the former agent told AFP.  Nidal was said to be in Baghdad, and is a "leading officer for some Mossad agents."

     What happened in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C. on Sept. 11 may not be quite the simple "Bad Muslims vs. Good Americans" scenario being painted by Muslim-obsessed conspiracy theorists in the plutocrat-controlled major media.  An interesting counter-perspective comes from Gen. Hameed Gul, the former director general of the Pakistani intelligence services.
     Gul recently gave a fascinating interview to Arnaud de Borchgrave, UPI's international editor-at-large, in which Gul provided perceptive insights on the Sept. 11 tragedy that could only come from someone with his contacts and "insider" knowledge of global affairs.
     Having worked closely for many years with the CIA in the American agency's efforts to drive the Soviets out of Afghanistan--the movement that launched Osama bin Laden in the first place--Gul is no peripheral minor player easily dismissed.
     Gul does not believe bin Laden is responsible.  If there is genuine evidence implicating bin Laden, he says, that evidence should be brought forth.
     Gul noted the media's role in hyping the widespread conspiracy theory implicating bin Laden:
     Within 10 minutes of the second twin tower being hit in the World Trade Center, CNN said Osama bin Laden had done it. That was a planned piece of disinformation by the real perpetrators.  It created an instant mindset and put public opinion into a trance, which prevented even intelligent people from thinking for themselves.
DOES NOT HAVE THE MEANS
     In Gul's judgment, while bin Laden is revered throughout the Muslim world, the Saudi millionaire is a spiritual leader-not a military commander or tactician.  Bin Laden, said Gul, simply "doesn't have the means for such a sophisticated operation" of the type that took place on Sept. 11.
     If bin Laden was not responsible for what happened on Sept. 11, then who is responsible?
     Gul believes that Israel's intelligence agency, the Mossad, orchestrated the attacks of Sept. 11 and that the Mossad carried off the operation with the support of a cadre of its own assets-traitors to America-inside the U.S. defense establishment, probably in the U.S. Air Force.
     Here is exactly what Gul said:
     Mossad and its American associates are the obvious culprits. Who benefits from the crime?  The attacks against the twin towers started at 8:45 a.m. and four flights are diverted from their assigned air space and no air traffic controller sounds the alarm.  And no Air Force jets scramble until 10 a.m. 
     That also smacks of a small scale Air Force rebellion, a coup against the Pentagon perhaps?  Radars are jammed, transponders fail.  No IFF [identification of friend or foe] challenge.  In Pakistan, if there is no response to IFF, jets are instantly scrambled and the aircraft is shot down with no further questions asked.
     This was clearly an inside job. Bush was afraid and rushed to the shelter of a nuclear bunker.  He clearly feared a nuclear situation.  Who could that have been? Will that also be hushed up in the investigation, like the Warren report after the Kennedy assassination?
     Why was Bush a target? Israel and its American lobby hate both former President Bush and current President George W. Bush, because the father and son are considered "too close to oil interests and the [Arab] Gulf countries."  As a consequence, George W. Bush is considered by Israel, in Gul's words, "a potential danger to Israel."
Former Mossad Operative Says George Bush the Elder Was Assassination Target
In 1991, Israel's spy agency, the Mossad, plotted the assassination of then-President George H. W. Bush who was considered a threat to Israel.  The plot was unveiled by ex-Mossad officer Victor Ostrovsky, who leaked word to ex-Rep. Paul N. (Pete) McCloskey (R-Calif.), a Bush friend.  Former Rep. Paul Findley (R-Ill.) exposed the plot publicly.  Ostrovsky told the entire story in his book, The Other Side of Deception.  In 1947, according to Margaret Truman's biography of her father, President Harry Truman, Jewish terrorists in the Stern Gang tried to kill Truman by sending him letters treated with poison.  Stern Gang figure Yitzhak Shamir later became prime minister of Israel.
BUSH DENIED TERM
     Gul opined that the Israelis "made sure Bush senior didn't get a second term.  His land-for-peace pressure in Palestine didn't suit Israel."
     Gul contends Israel's suspicions about the younger Bush are further exacerbated by the fact that Arab sources, through American conduits, funneled some $150 million into Bush's 2000 Dresidential campaign, arranged by former President Bush and former Secretary of State Jim Baker.
     In addition, according to Gul, former President Bush and Baker, as private citizens, arranged the new strategic relationship between Saudi Arabia and Iran. "I have this from sources in both countries," stated the former Pakistani intelligence chief.
     "Jews were stunned by the way Bush stole the election in Florida.  They had put big money on Al Gore," said Gul, who evidently believes that President Bush, rather than take on the Mossad on Sept. 11, decided to turn the tables on his Israeli enemies and make the best of a bad situation.  Said Gul:
Israel has now handed the Bush family the opportunity it has been waiting for to consolidate America's imperial grip on the Gulf and acquire control of the Caspian basin by extending its military presence in Central Asia.

     Manipulators with inside information made huge profits on sophisticated trades as the stocks of the airline and insurance companies plummeted in the aftermath of the Sept. 11 disaster.  The inside information was so precise that experts have concluded that it could have only come from those who masterminded the terror attacks.

     This money trail is the closest investigators have come to "a smoking gun" and could lead directly to those who planned the attacks.  But with the notable exception of Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D.-Ga.), Congress has yet to demand a thorough and open investigation.

     In the days following the terror attacks, suspicious and unusual stock trading activity indicated that people used inside information to make huge profits.  The money made from the trades done with apparent inside information has been estimated at up to $15 billion worldwide.

     The Institute for Counter Terrorism (ICT), located in Herzliya, Israel, published an article, "Black Tuesday: World's Largest Insider Trading Scam?" on Sept. 19, 2001.

     Author Don Radlauer, an expert in stock options and derivatives, provided details of the types and volumes of the suspicious trades and said: "Obviously, anyone who had detailed knowledge of the attacks before they happened was, at the very least, an accessory to their planning; and the overwhelming probability is that the trades could have been made only by the same people who masterminded the attacks themselves."

     Radlauer pointed to the timing, specificity, size and unusual nature as indicative that the trades had been done with inside information.

     Tracing the transactions to their real source, Radlauer said, would be difficult because "the trading is sure to have been done under false names, behind shell corporations, and in general to have been thoroughly obfuscated."

     Radlauer concluded: "This doesn't mean that unraveling the threads of these transactions will be impossible, but it probably won't be quick or easy."

     The American exchanges that handle options and derivatives trades, primarily the Chicago Board of Options Exchange (CBOE) and the NYSE, know on a daily basis what levels of put options are purchased.

     "Put options" are highly leveraged bets that a given stock's share price will fall.

     Among the most conspicuous spikes in trading activity were the huge increases in "put options" placed on the two airlines involved in the hijackings of Sept. 11, United Airlines (UAL) and American Airlines.

     There was a 9,000 percent jump in United Air Lines (UAL) put options between Sept. 6 and Sept. 10, with a huge spike 285 times higher than average on the Thursday before the attack.

     American Airlines saw a 6,000 percent jump in put options above normal the day before the attacks.  However, there was no similar trading activity on any other airlines, according to market reports.

     The brokerage houses that had offices in the WTC, Morgan Stanley and Merrill-Lynch, saw 27-fold and 12-fold increases in the purchases of put options on their respective shares between Sept. 7 and Sept. 10. 

     "The afternoon before the attack, alarm bells were sounding over unusual trading in the U.S. stock options market," the CBS program 60 Minutes reported on Sept. 19.  As investigator Michael C. Ruppert of From the Wilderness, an Internet news site, says: "These trades were certainly noticed after the attacks."

 There was also an unusually high volume of five-year U.S. Treasury note purchases prior to the attacks, including one $5 billion trade, The Wall Street Journal reported Oct. 2.  "Five-year 1reasury notes are among the best investments in the event of a world crisis, especially one that hits the U.S.," the report said. 

    "This could very well be insider trading at the worst, most horrific, most evil use you've ever seen in your entire life . . . this would be one of the most extraordinary coincidences in the history of mankind if it was a coincidence," Dylan Ratigan of Bloomberg Business News said Sept. 20.

     No U.S. or foreign agency has announced arrests or developments in the investigation of these trades, the most telling evidence of foreknowledge, Ruppert wrote April 22.  The former chief of enforcement at the Securities and Exchange Commission, William McLucas, said regulators would "certainly be able to track down every trade, where the trade cleared, where the trade was directed from."

     Experts from the Convar Company in Pirmasens, Germany, are using their "blue laser scanning" technology to retrieve data from the damaged computers of banks, telecommunication companies, and other tenants from the WTC.  This technology can even retrieve the original data from hard discs that have been deleted and written over five times.

     Peter Henschel, director of Convar, said: "not only the volume, but the size of the transactions was far higher than usual for a day like that."

     Henschel told AFP that "up to the last moment," between the time that the first tower was hit until the second tower collapsed, there was an "unusual" increase in trading volume of "between 5 and 10 times the normal volume."

     One data recovery expert, Richard Wagner, has estimated that more than $100 million in illegal transactions appeared to have rushed through the WTC computers before and during the disaster.

     The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has launched a secret investigation into what has been termed a "highly suspicious" and significant flurry of what are called "put" options into American insurance carriers, airlines and other financial institutions just prior to the terrorist attack on Sept. 11.
     A "put" option will increase in value if and when the price of a stock drops. This is exactly what happened after the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center (WTC).  The investigation, which has spread quietly to Canadian financial markets, covers the period from Aug. 27 through Sept. 11.
     The SEC officially refuses to comment on their investigation and will not make the list of companies public.

    War has always been a profitable money machine for shrewd investors with foresight, but the extremely close connections of the Carlyle Group, a Washington-based private equity investment firm and major war profiteer, to the Bush and bin Laden families--and the current occupant of the White House--raise unavoidable questions of waging war for profit.
     Established in 1987 the Carlyle Group was founded by David Rubenstein, a former staff member in the Jimmy Carter White House, and his two partners, Dan D' Aniello and Bill Conway.  Today there are 18 partners in the firm and one outside investor.  The Washington Post has described Carlyle as a "merchant banking firm" set up "to serve corporations and wealthy families."  From the beginning the founders of Carlyle have recruited former politicians as consultants: former President George H. W. Bush is among them--along with a host of other Bush family cronies.
     The Bush connection to the Carlyle Group is nothing short of a scandal, according to Larry Klayman, a notable government watchdog best known for pursuing the scandals of former President Bill Clinton.
     Now that the United States is bombing Afghanistan and allocating huge sums of money for defense, including $40 billion for the "war on terrorism" and more than $200 billion [1994 dollars] for the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF), the conflict of interest is "direct," Klayman says.  "President Bush should not ask but demand that his father pull out of the Carlyle Group."
     Carlyle owns many of the companies that will share in the $200 billion JSF deal.
     "Carlyle is as deeply wired into the current administration as they can possibly be," Charles Lewis, executive director of the Center for Public Integrity, said.  "George Bush is getting money from private interests that have business before the government, while his son is president.  And, in a really peculiar way, George W. Bush could, some day, benefit financially from his own administration's decisions, through his father's investments.  The average American doesn't know that.  To me, that's a jaw-dropper."
     The Carlyle Group, which claims to be the largest U.S. private-equity fund with some $14 billion in assets, makes money by investing in undervalued companies and reselling them at a profit, employing a host of former top-level government officials from the Bush and Reagan administrations, including former President Bush, in a global "money machine."  The Washington Business Journal said in May that the Carlyle Group "seems to play by a different set of rules."
     Carlyle is a high-end business open only to the very rich.  The Carlyle empire has investments around the world, owns numerous defense related companies outright, and has considerable business with the U.S. government.  It owns so many companies that it is now one of the biggest U.S. defense contractors-and a major force in global telecommunications.  Carlyle also serves as financial adviser to the Saudi government.
     Carlyle's directory reads like a Who's Who of high-profile Republicans going back to the Reagan administration.  The chairman is Ronald Reagan's former defense secretary, Frank Carlucci.  Former Secretary of State James Baker III, former Budget Director Richard Darman, and Arthur Levitt, chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission through most of the Clinton administration, are all senior advisers to the firm.

     "Nothing in recent history, however, seems to approach the success this group has had in the wholesale conversion of former high government rank to gigantic profits," Dan K Thomasson, former editor of Scripps Howard News Service wrote in March 2001.  "The use that influence at the highest levels to garner such enormous wealth and power presents an undeniably unsavory appearance.
     "One of the underlying themes of the last election, rarely spoken but always present, was the need to restore dignity to the presidency.  Now we discover that at the same time he was being held up as an example of how to be presidential, Bush senior was using his stature and entree everywhere to push the interests of himself and his cronies," Thomasson wrote.
      The success of the relatively young Carlyle Group is hardly surprising given that it primarily buys companies that are regulated by government.  Nearly two thirds of its investments are in defense and telecommunications companies, which are affected by shifts in government spending and policy.  Financial experts say the Carlyle Group's most profitable niche is buying military and aerospace supplies at discount prices and selling them for a lot more.
 

This current military activity is not war.  A war is when two or more countries fight each other and the outcome is in doubt.

War has always been a profitable money machine for shrewd investors with foresight, but the extremely close connections of the Carlyle Group (a major war profiteer) to the Bush and bin laden families (including the current president) raise unavoidable questions of waging war for profit.
 

Why hasn't George H. W. Bush been put on trial as a war criminal for the slaughter of thousands of innocent Panamanians in Dec.1989?

     With Carlucci as chairman, it's no surprise that Carlyle is drawn to defense firms.  Carlyle owns numerous defense and aerospace firms such as United Defense Industries, which makes tanks, guided missiles, space vehicles, and weapons delivery systems.  United States Marine Repair (USMR) is America's largest non-nuclear ship repair, modernization and conversion company and is another Carlyle company.
     Carlucci's knowledge of the Pentagon's inner workings gives Carlyle an advantage when buying defense companies that have fallen in market value.  "Because they have a good sense of the defense and aerospace business, they have an ability to project future earnings so they can calculate the true value," Philip Finnegan, a senior analyst with the Teal Group said.
     Carlucci, who is seen as largely responsible for Carlyle's success, said he met in February with his old college classmate, Donald Rumsfeld, the new secretary of defense.  He also met with Vice President Dick Cheney, himself a defense secretary under former President Bush, to talk about military matters-at a time when Carlyle has several billion-dollar defense projects under consideration.
     Defense-related companies make up about 30 percent of the firm's portfolio, which also includes information technology, Internet companies, health care, real estate, and bottling companies.  The French newspaper, Le Figaro, is another Carlyle asset.
     "Carlyle has averaged annual gross returns of 34 percent since inception, par for the course among similar buyout firms.  By comparison, funds offered by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. returned 30 percent.  By the end of 2000 Carlyle had raised a total of $12.5 billion, which made it the fifth-largest private buyout firm in the U.S.," Bloomberg reported.
     Although the Carlyle Group is a "private equity fund" it has enriched itself using public and state pension funds from California, Texas and Connecticut.  The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CAL PERS) has invested hundreds of millions with Carlyle and has at least a 5 percent stake in the firm.
     The Texas teachers' pension fund--whose board was appointed when George W. Bush was governor--gave Carlyle $100 million to invest.  In Connecticut, a scandal resulted when Wayne Berman, a Washington consultant and fund-raiser for George W. Bush's presidential campaign, received "a kickback" of more than $900,000 after the state treasurer, Paul J. Silvester, steered tens of millions of state pension fund dollars into a Carlyle Group investment fund.
     On Oct. 26, it was reported that Osama bin Laden's family was cutting its financial ties with the Carlyle Group.  The bin Laden family reportedly sold its investment worth $2.02 million because of criticism in Saudi Arabia that the bin Laden family, whose construction company is one of the largest in the Middle East, would profit from increased military spending in the U.S.-led war against terrorism.
     The fact that President Bush's father and his former secretary of state, James Baker, serve as senior advisers to the company has raised red flags in Washington.  Bush the Elder and Baker reportedly use their extensive government contacts to further their business interests as Carlyle Group representatives.  From Carlyle's point of view, the involvement of Baker and the former president is invaluable.
     "It punches up the brand awareness for us globally," said Carlyle partner Dan D'Aniello.  "We are greatly assisted by Baker and Bush.  It shows that we are associated with people of the highest ethical standards."
     Baker's stake was estimated to be worth more than $180 million when the fund was valued at $3.5 billion; today it is worth much more. 
     Unlike Baker, Bush the Elder has no ownership stake in Carlyle.  As an adviser and an investor, however, Bush is allowed to put the money he earns giving speeches, between $80,000 and $100,000 per speech, into Carlyle's investment funds.

War Is Sell
     In July 2000, Carlyle Group bought Northrop Grumman's aerostructures busmess group in a deal valued at $1.2 billion.  The business was renamed Vought Aircraft Industries and remains based in Dallas.  On Aug. 20, Vought announced that it had been selected by Northrop Grumman to manufacture the wing for the Global Hawk unmanned reconnaissance system's air vehicle.
     The corporate overlap between Carlyle and leading defense contractors can be seen in B. Edward Ewing, managing director and CEO of Dallas-based Carlyle Management Group (CMG).  Ewing is also chairman and CEO of The Aerostructures Corporation (TAC), a leading worldwide designer and manufacturer of major compo- nents for commercial and military aircraft, and is CEO of USMR.  Prior to joining Carlyle and leading USMR, Ewing served five years as vice president of operations for Lockheed Martin, the leading company on the JSF project.
     The current White House occupant was himself director of a Carlyle company, Caterair.
CARLYLE'S EMPLOYEES
     From the beginning the founders have recruited former politicians as consultants.  George Bush the Elder visited Saudi Arabia, home of the bin Laden family, to open doors for Carlyle's fund-raisers.  Carlyle won't disclose how much senior advisers like Bush earn but industry experts estimate their fees average about $1 million per year.
     "Mr. Bush gives us no advice on what do with the federal government.  We've gone over backwards to make sure that we do no lobbying," Carlyle senior partner David Rubenstein said.  "President Bush is not asking anybody for money.  He speaks at lunches, dinners, and events on non-Carlyle matters and expresses his views on world events."
     Rubenstein, who attended Barbara Bush's surprise 75th birthday party last summer in Kennebunkport, Me., says:  "We don't do lobbying.  We don't give to any politicians.  We don't have a PAC [political action committee].  We try to be cleaner than Caesar's wife."
     Rubenstein may not know it, but Caesar's wife was not "above suspicion," either.  He divorced her over allegations of infidelity.

 Was 9-11 an Excuse for Long-Planned War? 
President Bush's "crusade" against the Taliban of Afghanistan has more to do with control of the immense oil and gas resources of the Caspian Basin than it does with "rooting out terrorism."

     Before the sun set on the apocalyptic day that New York's gleaming twin towers collapsed, the U.S. government had already decided to blame the attack on Osama bin Laden, the Saudi-born guerrilla leader, and the Taliban government of Afghanistan which harbored him.

     Although the U.S. government did not present evidence in support of its case against bin Laden, Secretary of State Colin Powell said on Sept. 23, "I think in the near future, we will be able to put out a paper, a document, that will describe quite clearly the evidence that we have linking him to this attack."

     When it was reported that the Taliban might turn bin Laden over to face justice, the Bush administration said that surrendering bin Laden would not prevent an American-led attack on Afghanistan.

     An international plan to remove the fundamentalist Islamic Taliban from power has been a subject of international diplomatic discussions for months and was reportedly raised by India during the Group of Eight summit in July in Genoa, Italy.

     The Indian press reported in June that, "India and Iran will 'facilitate' U.S. and Russian plans for 'limited military action' against the Taliban if the contemplated tough new economic sanctions don't bend Afghanistan's fundamentalist regime."

     The economic reasons for the multi-national assault against the Taliban were explained: "Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan are threatened by the Taliban that is aiming to control their vast oil, gas, and other resources by bringing Islamic fundamentalists into power."

     Once again an American president from the Bush family is leading Americans down an oil-rich Middle Eastern warpath against "enemies of freedom and democracy."

     President George W. Bush, whose family is well connected to oil and energy companies, has called for an international crusade against Islamic terrorists, who he says hate Americans simply because they are "the brightest beacon of freedom" and a "democracy."

     The focus on religion-based terrorism serves to conceal important aspects of the Central Asian conflict.  President Bush's noble rhetoric about fighting for justice and democracy is masking a less noble struggle for control of an estimated $5 trillion of oil and gas resources in the Caspian Basin.

     One of the material results of the elder Bush's Desert Storm campaign in 1991 was to secure access to the huge Rumaila oil field of southern Iraq, which was accomplished by expanding the boundaries of Kuwait after the war.  This allowed Kuwait, a former British protectorate where American and British oil companies are heavily invested, to double its prewar oil output.

     The Trepca mine complex in Kosovo, one of the richest mines in Europe, was seized last year by front companies for George Soros and Bernard Kouchner, two members of the New World Order gang who devastated Serbia.

     A similar geopolitical strategy, influenced by Zionist planners, to control the valuable mineral resources of the Caspian Basin underlies the planned aggression against Afghanistan, a Central Asian nation that occupies a strategic position sandwiched between the Middle East, Central Asia and the Indian subcontinent.
 

Long before the 9-11 attacks, plans were being made to wage war against Afghanistan's Taliban as a part of a scheme to gain access to the vast oil and natural gas resources available in the Caspian region.

     Central Asia has enormous quantities of undeveloped oil resources including 6.6 trillion cubic meters of natural gas, waiting to be exploited.

     The former Soviet republics of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan are the two major gas producers in Central Asia.

     Today, the only existing export routes from the area lead through Russia.  Investors in Caspian oil and gas are interested in building alternative pipelines to Turkey and Europe, and especially to the rapidly growing Asian markets.

No American Blood for multinational oil companies!

     India, Iran, Russia and Israel are working on a plan to supply oil and gas to south and southeast Asia through India but instability in Afghanistan is posing a great threat to this effort.

     Afghanistan lies squarely between Turkmenistan, home to the world's third-largest natural gas reserves, and the lucrative markets of the Indian subcontinent, China and Japan.  A memorandum of understanding has been signed to build a 900-mile natural gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to Pakistan via Afghanistan, but the ongoing civil war and absence of a stable government in Afghanistan have delayed the project.

     Afghanistan was at the center of the so-called "Great Game" in the 19th century when Imperial Russia and the British Empire in India vied for influence.  Today, its geographical position as a potential route for oil and natural gas pipelines makes Mghanistan extremely important to energy magnates seeking control of these precious resources.

     Enron, a Texas-based gas and energy company, together with Amoco, British Petroleum, Chevron, Exxon, Mobil and Unocal are all engaged in a multi-billion dollar frenzy to extract the reserves of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan, the three newly independent Soviet republics that border on the Caspian Sea.

     On behalf of the oil companies, an array of former cabinet members from the elder Bush administration have been actively involved in negotiations with the former Soviet republics.  The dealmakers include James Baker, Brent Scowcroft, John Sununu and, notably, Dick Cheney, now vice president.

     Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan are also closely allied with Israeli commercial interests and Israeli military intelligence.

     In Turkmenistan, a "former" Israeli intelligence agent, Yosef A. Maiman, president of Merhav Group of Israel, is the official negotiator and policy maker responsible for developing the energy resources of Turkmenistan.

     "This is the Great Game all over," Maiman told The Wall Street Journal about his role in furthering the "geopolitical goals of both the U.S. and Israel" in Central Asia.

     "We are doing what U.S. and Israeli policy could not achieve--controlling the transport route is controlling the product," he said.

     "Those who control the oil routes out of Central Asia will impact all future direction and quantities of flow and the distribution of revenues from new production," said energy expert James Dorian in Oil & Gas Journal on September 10.

     Foreign business in Turkmenistan is dominated by Maiman's Merhav Group, according to The Washington Report on Middle East Affairs (WRMEA).

     Maiman, who was made a citizen of Turkmenistan by presidential decree, serves as Turkmenistan's "official negotiator" for its gas pipeline, special ambassador, and "right-hand man" for the "authoritarian" President Saparmurad Atayevich Niyazov, a former Politburo member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.

     The Merhav Group of Israel officially represents theTurkmen government and has brokered all of the energy projects in Turkmenistan, contracts worth many billions of dollars.

     Merhav has been contracted to modernize existing natural gas infrastructure and will build new facilities in an oil refinery in the city of  Turkmenbashi on the Caspian Sea.  Merhav refuses to disclose its sources of financing.

     In keeping with Israeli political interests, Maiman's planned pipelines bypass Iran and Russia.  Maiman has said that he would have no objection to dealing with Iran, "when and if Israeli policy allows it."

     Iran has accused the United States of trying to keep regional pipelines from passing through Iran.  Creating a counterbalance to Iran's regional influence was a cornerstone of the Clinton administration, which was concerned that Iran could gain too much control over Caspian exports.

     "This is a common interest for the U.S. and Israel," said Dr. Nimrod Novik, vice president of Merhav.  "The primary interest is to prevent the development of Turkish strategic dependence on Iran, given the unique emerging strategic relationship between Turkey and Israel."

     Russia and Turkmenistan are in a battle to conquer the Turkish gas market, and the supplier that offers the best price will emerge as the winner.

     "This is a great race," Maiman says, "Whoever takes Turkey first wins.  Whoever comes second will have lean years."

     Although the United States needs Russian assistance in its campaign against Afghanistan, when AFP asked Alex Chorine of Caspian Investor what kind of relationship existed between the Russian and Western/Israeli energy companies doing business in the Caspian Basin Chorine said, "They act as enemies."

     One of Maiman's proposed pipelines would bring Turkmenistan's gas and oil to Turkey via Azerbaijan and Georgia.

     Maiman's Merhav Group is also involved in a $100 project that would reduce the flow of water to Iraq by diverting water from the Tigris and Euphrates rivers to southeastern Turkey.

    Israeli officials boast of having "excellent relations" with Azerbaijan, where an Israeli company, Magal Security Systems, has a contract to provide security at Baku airport.  Magal is one of several Israeli companies that will "turn Israel into a major player in Azerbaijan" by providing security for the 1,200 mile pipe line taking oil from the Caspian to the Turkish port of Ceyhan on the Mediterranean Sea

     Enron, the biggest contributor to the Bush campaign of 2000, conducted the feasibility study for a $2.5 billion Trans-Caspian gas pipeline, which is being built under a joint venture agreement signed in February 1999 between Turkmenistan and two American companies, Bethel and General Electric Capital Services.

     Maiman acted as the intermediary between the Turkmenis and the U.S. firms, but won't discuss "his cut" or whether he will receive a stake in the pipeline.

     The Merhav Group has hired the Washington lobbying firm Cassidy & Associates and spent several million dollars to "encourage" U.S. officials to push for the trans-Caspian pipeline.

     During the Clinton administration, Secretary of Energy Bill Richardson and "special adviser to the president" Richard Morningstar promoted the Baku-Ceyhan pipeline, calling it "critical to the economic survival of Turkmenistan."

     The relationship between Israel, Turkey and the United States is the major factor for the selection of the Baku-Ceyhan route, which could be extended to bring oil directly to energy-deficient Israel.

     Energy experts, however, question the wisdom and expense of this route.  Companies are under pressure from the United States and Israel to invest in east-west pipelines, although most companies would prefer cheaper north-south pipelines through Iranian territory, according to WRMEA.

     The U.S. firm Unocal was leading a pipeline project to bring Turkmenistan's abundant natural gas through Afghanistan to the growing markets of Pakistan and India, until the turmoil in Afghanistan led them to withdraw from the project in 1998.

     The planned pipeline would carry gas from the Turkmen Dauletabad fields, among the world's largest, to Multan in Pakistan, with a planned extension to India.  The line from Dauletabad through Afghanistan is planned to transport 15 billion cubic feet of gas per year for 30 years.  This pipeline is on hold until the political and military situations in Afghanistan improve.

     There is a second Unocal project to build a 1,030-mile oil pipeline called the Central Asian Oil Pipeline Project, which would start at Chardzhou in Thrkmenistan linking Russia's Siberian oil field pipelines to Pakistan's Arabian coast. This line could transport 1 million barrels a day of oil from other areas of the former Soviet Union. It would run parallel to the gas line route through Afghanistan and branch off in Pakistan to the Indian Ocean terminal in Ras Malan.


Precedent Set: U.S. Planned Terror Against Own Citizens
Would the U.S. government stage a terrorist attack on its own citizens on American soil?  Yes, according to shocking once-secret documents unveiled by a respected mainstream journalist.

     In the wake of the tragic Oklahoma City bombing, media pundits raised voices of horror at the suggestion by some that U.S. government operatives might have played a part in orchestrating the bombing for some political purpose or purposes unknown.
     However, in 2001, six years after the Oklahoma tragedy, best-selling author James Bamford, a veteran journalist, released Body of Secrets which revealed that in January 1961, top U.S. policy makers were considering a horrific scheme to launch terrorist attacks on American citizens and point the finger of blame at Fidel Castro's communist Cuba.
     Here's what Bamford wrote:
According to documents obtained for Body of Secrets, [then-Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman, Army General Lyman] Lemnitzer and the Joint Chiefs proposed secretly to stage an attack on the American naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba--and then blame the violent action on Castro.  Convinced that Cuba had lauuched an unprovoked attack on the United States, the unwitting American public would then support the Joint Chief's bloody Caribbean war.  After all, who would believe Castro's denials over the word of the Pentagon's top military commanders?  The nation's most senior military leadership was proposing to lauuch a war, which would no doubt kill many American servicemen, based solely on a fabric of lies. On January 19, just hours before [then-President Dwight] Eisenhower left office, Lemnitzer gave his approval to the proposal.  As events progressed, the plan would become only the tip of a very large and secret iceberg.
     Lemnitzer, a self-described "imaginative planner," kept his initial plan in cold storage. However, after the new Kennedy administration's Bay of Pigs fiasco, which left Fidel Castro stronger than ever before, Lemnitzer reinvigorated his scheme under the name "Operation Northwoods."  Bamford reports that:
     The plan, which had the written approval of the chairman and every member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, called for innocent people to be shot on American streets; for boats carrying refugees fleeing Cuba to be sunk on the high seas; for a wave of violent terrorism to be launched in Washington, D.C., Miami and elsewhere.  People would be framed for bombings they did not commit; planes would be hijacked.  Using phony evidence, all of it would be blamed on Castro, thus giving Lemnister and his cabal the excuse, as well as the public and international backing, they needed to launch their war.
     What makes this diabolical is that this was not some wild scheme by only some "mad bombers" inside the military.  In Bamford's estimation, "the idea may actually have originated with President Eisenhower in the last days of his administration."		      Bamford reports that Eisenhower was determined to invade Cuba and that if Castro did not provide an excuse prior to the inauguration of newly-elected President John F. Kennedy, Eisenhower suggested that the United States "could think of manufacturing something that would be generally acceptable."
    What Eisenhower was suggesting, writes Bamford, was "a bombing, an attack, an act of sabotage carried out secretly against the United States by the United States.  Its purpose would be to justifY the launching of a war.  It was a dangerous suggestion by a desperate president." Lemnitzer, Eisenhower's protege since World War II days, was eager to carry out the plan.
     Lemnitzer also had in mind the possibility of a dramatic scenario recalling the 1898 disaster which befell the U.S.S. Maine in Havana harbor, sparking the Spanish-American war:
     We could blow up a U.S. ship in Guantanamo Bay and blame Cuba.  Casualty lists in U.S. newspapers would cause a helpful wave of national indignation.



















     Terrorism on American soil by Americans against
Americans--but blamed on Castro--was also offered up
by Lemnitzer and his advisors:

     We could develop a Communist Cuban terror campaign in the Miami area, in other Florida cities and even in Washington.  The terror campaign could be pointed at Cuban refugees seeking haven in the United States.... We could sink a boatload of Cubans en route to Florida (real or simulated).... We could foster attempts on lives of Cuban refugees in the United States even to the extent of wounding in instances to be widely publicized.
It should be illegal for any U.S. president to belong to any secret societies.

Odd Events on Flight 11 Unexplained

There is unexpected controversy surrounding one of the passengers aboard ill-fated Flight 11 that struck the World Trade Center on Sept. 11.

     On March 2, Dan Eggen, staff writer for The Washington Post, let slip an intriguing detail about the background of one of the passengers who died on Flight 11, one of the two jets that crashed into the World Trade Center.
     The passenger in question, Daniel C. Lewin, was more than just another of those "instant Internet billionaires."  Born in Denver and raised in Israel, Lewin was a former member of the elite special forces of the Israeli Defense Force.
     In light of new revelations about the surveillance of the alleged 9-11 hijackers by other Israeli military and intelligence operatives, Lewin's presence on the plane, riding evidently one seat away from one of the hijackers, is significant indeed.
     But the circumstances surrounding how this detail emerged are strange in and of themselves.  First of all, there is controversy over whether or not an official government memorandum--generated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on Sept. 11 and which made specific reference to Lewin--was accurate. 
     The Post reported that an internal FAA memorandum written on Sept. 11 referred to a shooting on F1ight 11.  The report cited a report to the FAA by an American Airlines corporate security officer who said that a flight attendant on F1ight 11 had called American during the hijacking and "informed that a passenger located in seat lOB shot and killed a passenger in seat 9B at 9:20 a.m."  The report stated that the victim in seat 9B was Lewin.
     Now, the FAA and the FBI are saying that this was a mistake and that no gun was fired on the plane.  They claim that this "mistake" was corrected in later versions of the documents.
     How the FBI and the FAA "knew" by the end of that day there had not been a gun on the aircraft has yet to be explained.  This claim is interesting, considering the fact that "by the end of the day significant evidence had yet to be recovered--including the famous black boxes that record cockpit activity."
     Now the FBI and the FAA are saying that they believe that the ex-Israeli Special Forces officer, Lewin, was stabbed to death, along with the two pilots on Flight 11.  The fact that a former Israeli operative is central to this unresolved mystery is a detail that should not be passed over.

What Ever Happened to bin Ladin's 'Doubles'?
Was the famous "smoking gun" video of Osama bin laden celebrating the 9-11 attacks genuine?  There's more to the story than meets the eye.

How could anyone doubt that Osama bin Laden was the mastermind of the 9-11 terrorist attacks?  Millions watched a video tape, played repeatedly on television, in which bin Laden was seen smiling brightly as official government translations said bin Laden's words (in Arabic) "proved" that he was responsible for 9-11 and was claiming credit for it.

     The sudden discovery of the videotape solved a very big problem for the American government.  What most Americans don't realize is that--as Jonathan Alter admitted in Newsweek on Dec. 24--until the tape appeared nearly two months after the tragedy-there was no "evidence" of any kind proving bin Laden's involvement in (or prior knowledge of) the impending attacks.

     The origin of the tape is mysterious.  That immediately raises questions.  The tape was supposedly found in a house in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, and handed to the Pentagon by an unnamed person or group.  At first it was reported the CIA found the tape. Later reports said anti-Taliban Afghan soldiers discovered it.

     Now look at some facts.  First of all, not one press interview or formal statement or videotaped message released by bin Laden after he was blamed for the 9-11 attacks contains an admission that he orchestrated the attacks or knew about the planning of those attacks by others.

     In an interview with the Pakistani newspaper Ummat, published on Sept. 28, bin Laden clearly states "I have already said that I am not involved in the Sept. 11 attacks."  And while bin Laden later praised those responsible, suggesting the U. S. was being punished for its Middle East policy, that is not "proof' he directed the attacks.

     As far as the "smoking gun" video is concerned, both audio and visual quality was so bad that even Arabic speakers were forced to accept the English translation on television or strain to hear the words themselves.

     And although it was not reported in the American media, two independent translators and an expert on Arabic studies carefully analyzed the U .S. government's translation, concluding that the most important parts of the translation were translated incorrectly and incriminating words were falsely attributed to bin Laden.  The experts worked from the original Arabic soundtrack and found the translation was not just inaccurate but even "manipulated."  Their findings were reported on the German state television show, Monitor, on Dec. 20.

     One of the experts, Dr. Abdel EI M. Husseini, said, "At the most important places which have been presented as proof of bin Laden's guilt, the Pentagon translation does not agree with the Arabic heard on the video."  Pointing out that while the translation has bin Laden saying, "We calculated in advance the number of casualties from the enemy. . ."  Alami noted that "The words 'in advance' are not even heard on the tape.

     "This translation is wrong," he said.  "When we take the original Arabic from the tape there are no misunderstandings which would allow us to read this into the original." At another point, the translation has bin Laden saying: "We had notification since the previous Thursday that the event would take place that day," Alami points out: " 'Previous' is never said.  The following sentence that the event would take place on that day is not heard in the original Arabic." 

     The translation also mistranslated the sentence "We ordered each of them to go to America" in the active voice while the original Arabic is in the passive voice: "they were ordered to go."  The translation using "we" is wrong, Alami says.

      Gemot Rotter, professor of Islamic and Arabic Studies at the University of Hamburg, said, "The American translators who listened and transcribed the tapes have apparently written a lot of things into the text that they wanted to hear, which are actually not heard on the tape no matter how many times you listen to it."

     The media made much of "translations" of bin Laden saying he believed the fire from the jet fuel would result in a partial collapse of the World Trade Center (WTC) but that he did not expect the whole building(s) to come down. 

    Yet, those words echo the same words said on Sept. 11 by millions of Americans who never expected one tower--let alone both towers--of the WTC to collapse.

IS THIS PROOF?
     The most direct allegation against bin Laden (based on the questionable translation) is that bin Laden had foreknowledge of the impending attacks.  That does not "prove," though, that he directed those attacks.

     Actually, it is possible that portions of the quite erratic, seemingly spliced video may not even have anything to do with the events of Sept. 11.  One source charged the tape was actually a doctored version of a four-year-old tape of bin Laden being congratulated on the wedding of one of his children.  This would account not only for the congratulatory wishes heard on the tape but also for bin Laden's much-noted happy expression.

     What about the possibility the "smoking gun" video was a fake? How could this be done?

     First of all, note that multiple reports from mainstream news sources have said bin Laden deployed multiple look alikes to avoid his enemies:
  · Oct. 7, 2001. Reuters reported that bin Laden "uses doubles to confuse Western intelligence agencies."  The source was the U.S.-allied Mghan leader Ahmed Wali Massoud who said "we received reports about the presence of four look-alikes of Osama in four different places in Afghanistan at the same time."
  · Nov. 17, 2001.  Reuters reported a bin Laden follower told London's al-Hayat newspaper that bin Laden had 10 look-alikes and "all are in Afghanistan."
  · Dec. 16, 2001.  ABC News.com reported bin Laden "has been known to travel with a number of look-alikes."
  · Dec. 20, 2001.  FoxNews.com reported bin Laden has utilized "look-alike Osama decoys." Fox quoted former U.S. Army Undersecretary Joe R. Reeder as saying "It's a very good guess that he's got a number of body doubles. . . .  Every time someone says they had a sighting we don't know whether it was him or a double."  Reeder estimated bin Laden may have six doubles.
     Reeder pointed out that because bin Laden is tall, said to be 6'5", that he would have a difficult time finding doubles. In fact, the "smoking gun" video shows "bin Laden" sitting, so it is impossible to determine how tall he is.  It could be a double.

     In addition, there are a variety of things about the "bin Laden" in the "smoking gun" video--suggesting it could be a double--including differences in appearance and behavior that contrast with previous videos.

     It is conceivable a bin Laden look-alike was captured and coerced or paid to fake the video.  Or, the CIA or the Mossad could have found their own look-alike and concocted the video.

     But the Israelis are known to have technology to fake such a video.  Here is evidence from a mainstream source: best-selling Irish author Gordon Thomas.

     In his book Seeds of Fire, Thomas reports that the Red Chinese military has trained Israeli scientists "to perfect the technique of morphing, among others, the images of Yasser Arafat and Saddam Hussein onto television screens." Thomas reported that:
 

     Using specially doctored voice tapes of the actual Arafat and Saddam speaking, these have been re-spliced and perfectly lip-synched so that either leader appears to be making totally outlandish statements against their own people-which could lead them to being toppled.

     There is no reason to think that the same thing could not be done with a video of bin Laden. *

In case you didn't read all the report above, here's my summary of the 28 articles that the excellent AFP reporting crew presented in their special 9-11 issue dated May 27, 2002.

A group of Mossad suicide bombers stole several Arab identities and carried out the 9-11 mission, posing as Muslim fanatics to make America zealously hate then retaliate against the enemies of Israel.  This will help Israel succeed in their Zionist campaign of expansion, and the 'Friends Of The Zionists' will make a load of money as a by-product.

Being provided with a justifying reason to react with decisive force to gain a desired strategic advantage in the middle east presented too much of an opportunity for our oil motivated president to pass up.  Since the manipulated results of the "anti-terror" campaign greatly enhance the plans of his puppetmasters, the executive office decides to go along with the scheme withholding the awesome truth from the public.  The 'major news' media are of course complicit in suppressing any evidence the real truth, as their fat paychecks are coming directly from those sympathetic to those same manipulators.

The theory is that the WTC was actually demolished by the same group of rogues that masterminded the jet attack.  Why?  It seemed better that there would not be a reminding eyesore, to eliminate any real evidence of the actual perpetrators, and to keep the office rental rates up in the city during the economic downturn!


Does this sound too unbelievable?  Do you remember the U.S.S. Liberty?  Back when it happened I remember hearing that Israel mistakenly hit our ship, but I sure didn't hear anything about the true vicious nature of the attack until recently.

There is certainly a lot of evidence presented that indicates that certain Arab individuals are being "framed" for the 9-11 terror attacks.   I certainly have seen no actual hard evidence proving that the named Muslim/Arabs are the actual terrorists who committed the attack.  So I tend to believe the published articles as the American Free Press operation would have a lot to lose if what they have printed is libelous or slanderous.  If the accounts are true, being true reporters (unlike the faces on your boob tube), they have a lot of motivation to spread the news.

The video that I saw of that forty-seven story WTC building #7 coming down was certainly odd.  That building collapsed in a way that seemed like a very controlled demolition.  As you may have read in the above section, many engineers suspect that both of the twin towers were pulled down from the middle by blasting out the center shafts.  The videos of the building collapses certainly do appear to support that expert theory.  There are printed reports of individuals on the scene seeing demolition type blasts around the sixth story.  On Sept. 11, I saw an on-the-scene firemen speaking on a major network broadcast about the secondary blast that he heard and felt which had immediately preceded a tower collapse.

Please be sure to read all of the articles presented in the special issue above to be exposed to the presented facts and become part of a better informed American populace, one that we desperately need.  We have spent a lot of time and effort to bring these professional journalistic reports to you.  After you do absorb them, and if the content is news to you, then your conscience should be on progress.

Consider this excerpt from the cover article in the June 24, 2002 issue of In These Times: Nightmares of Reason  [Sorting fact from fiction in 9/11 conspiracy theories]  by Salim Muwakkil.

   The nearby Caspian Sea Basin is reputed to contain the largest source of untapped fossil fuels on the planet.....
   And none other than the disgraced Enron Corp.- once one of Bush's biggest financial backers - conducted a feasibility study for the $2.5 billion Trans-Caspian pipeline being built under a joint venture between Turkmenistan, Bechtel and General Electric.
   "Enron, together with Amoco, Chevron, Mobil, Unocal and British Petroleum, were all spending billions of dollars to pump the reserves of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan," the Asia Times reported, adding that Baker, former National Security Adviser Brent Scowcroft, former presidential Chief of Staff John Sununu and Vice President Dick Cheney "have all closed major deals directly and indirectly on behalf of the oil companies."
   And current National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice served on Chevron's board of directors for nearly 10 years before being scooped up by the Bush administration.  Chevron (now Chevron Texaco) is the largest shareholder in the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, the group that completed an oil pipeline from Kazakhstan to the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk, Russia, and is planning more pipelines in the region.
   It certainly can be argued that the economic benefits for close Bush associates are only indirectly attributable to the war on terrorism. But consider the argument of Uri Averney, a former member of the Israeli Knesset, noted peace activist and keen international observer.  "If one looks at the map of the big American bases created for the war," Averney wrote in the Israeli newspaper Ma' ariv in February, "one is struck by the fact that they are completely identical to the route of the projected oil pipeline to the Indian Ocean."
   Deployments of U.S. troops do largely coincide with existing and projected pipeline routes.  The United States already has troops in Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Georgia and Afghanistan; Bush reportedly is negotiating to place U.S. forces in Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Even if you don't like this kind of information, you should take the time to educate yourself about important civic events, as you probably won't receive the critical news from the "major media".  You may risk ignorance of the actual influences and events which control our lives (which is what the powerful really want).

Lately, I am reminded of that quote when I try to stomach a 'network news show'.  Of course the corporate American broadcast media don't (normally) overtly lie.  Instead they create falsehoods by unbalanced reporting and omissions of facts.  If they don't make fair presentations of information, then the recipients of their propaganda are not balanced in logic.  Rod was describing conditions necessary to maintain a gutless superstate that oppresses the individual.  The moral of that episode was that any country-state that disses its own citizen's freedoms is obsolete.  I totally agree.  Please let's not let that happen to our country with the Bushite "war on terror".

American Free Press, as usual you have done an OUTSTANDING JOB  with your report, thank you very much.  By the way, there are way more than just those 50 questions that need to be answered!

How about... "Why were there less than 3,000 deaths out of the over 50,000 WTC daily workforce?".  And if over 500 of the deaths them were of the heroic police, fire, medical and other rescue persons, and if the several hundred plane victims are being included in that under 3,000 total figure, then around 2,000 WTC occupants were killed.  That averages 1,000 per tower which seems strange considering where the planes struck the buildings.  In the past I have seen reports from several news organizations referring to investigations of instant messages from Israel to account holders working in the WTC, giving warnings of the impending terror attack. These reports are now soundly ignored by the major media.

Or... What about the disappeared reports about that jet engine crashing to earth at the same time about 6 miles from where the fourth jet crashed in Somerset County, PA?  The reports, if true, were evidence of either 1) a bomb on board (in the engine?) or most likely 2) a shoot down by the U.S. military.  Either way it's more "news" suppression for the sheeple.

Apparently those in control of media content don't think that the ordinary American citizens have a right to know the truth.  I sincerely doubt that the media corporations can ever be trusted to tell "the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth".  Information is power.  America needs to stay powerful internally, not just militarily.

If even 5% of the news articles reported by AFP in the special 9-11 report are true, and I think the actual percentage is much higher, you may ask yourself how and why can this data cover-up continue to happen in the land of "liberty and justice for all"?  It seems simple to me, there are two main reasons.

First MONEY.  Nowadays most "major news" organizations are for-profit multinational corporations that need to make money and forever grow to be satisfied.  No matter how much those broadcast wolves and foxes drape themselves in pretty American flags and bunting, their actual aims are not to serve America or any Americans other than their own kind.  Their "news operations" should be taken with a mountain of sodium chloride as it is not balanced.  The primary reason for their news propaganda machines is to maximize profits.

Secondly RELIGION.   I'd better prefix this by saying I'm not religious, and am not sympathetic to one side or the other in religious disputes.  If I must choose, I'd say screw them all.
The very best thing about America for me is the freedom from (other folks) religion.
I am deeply concerned about a religious group constituting about 3% of the American population that occupies a hugely disproportionate portion of control positions in: news/media  operations, property appraisal & financial establishments, corporate directorates, U.S. Senate(!!!!!!!!) & other court/legal entities, entertainment agencies, etc.  The real power positions, and they have more than their fair share of influence. This group is not impartial in the current/ancient middle east religious conflict, and appear to be drawing our unique and precious American way of life into their BS religious struggle.  Their "news" content  is controlled, with few issues examined from points of view deemed contrarian.

I thank GOD for the internet.

If Israel knew of the planned terror activity, and didn't warn us, then it was complicit in the attack against America.    No ifs, ands or buts about it.

'Founding Father' and our first president George Washington was absolutely correct in his farewell address to Congress.  The creation of Israel and its subsequent undermining of our American institutions seems to be a realization of his visionary warnings!  (From Palestine to Frankenstein in 2 generations!)

I hope that you will understand that the legislation which authorizes the continual giveaway of BILLIONS in U.S. federal dollars stolen from U.S. taxpayers, wasted in a gigantic welfare giveaway to "The State Of Israel", is unconstitutional under the 1st Amendment.  Period.  No ifs ands or buts.

Here are the first ten words of the first Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.  As far as I know, this law has never been overturned.  I quote it here exactly (in the original English)....
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,"
This part of the so-called 'Establishment Clause' of the Bill of Rights can not be any clearer.  And it is so important that they put it first!

With good intentions, America moved away from our wise constitution when we tried to deal with the problem left after World War 2 and Hitler's Germany, by helping out certain European victims of the war.  Now it's time to stop that perversion of our system.  If Israel were not a "religious state", then there would be no legal problem with that particular waste of our taxes.  But the federal aid to Israel is illegal, always has been and always will be.  Can anyone maintain that Israel is not the epitome of 'an establishment of religion'?

It is wrong to continue to violate our supreme law like this by the unlawful federal support of the increasing Israeli apartheid state and its ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.  Mixing religion and government weakens America as the founding fathers correctly foresaw.  Where is your representative on this important issue?  Are your lawmakers for upholding the law, or for continuing to break it by staying with the situation which they inherited?  Does their religion cloud their judgment?  We need honest, law-abiding American political leaders, not drones of some God-forsaken religious movement.

Why do I desire to distribute this information?  Read this recent letter to AFP.  After the Bushites staff up their (not our) huge state-security apparatus, and find no real targets, they will continue their hunting.  Guess who ends up being the game?   Current affairs, combined with some knowledge of world and American history leads me to firmly believe that we brown and poor folks will end up being their new enemy.  I have no doubt about it.  I wear a beard, that's a very suspicious trait to many in authority.  Look at President Gore, after he regrew his, he was targeted by a security search.  To me that the same as being hassled/harrased by a police state.  And if you dare SAY anything deemed hostile while being violated..... curtains.  (The fact is, most African American males if shaved will develop pseudofolliculitis barbae, therefore shaving is bad for most of us.)

We, America, must head the Bushite spook state off.   There are actually  a few progressive leaders existing in the chambers of power, derided and marginalized as they are.  As Ten Trey said "Ain't Nothin' Like A Sister".  Courage is rare in most of your representatives.

The widely denounced PATRIOT Act is an unconstitutional abuse of power that most of YOUR REPRESENTATIVES have hysterically agreed to.  It must be undone.  Currently, Dubya (our chief executioner) is proposing a sham global reorganization of the domestic police agencies that will turn our free society to shambles, a real plutocracy.

True, over time there have been too many agencies with overlapping jurisdictions, so changing the bureaucratic mess is a great idea.  However the Bushite implementation will not be to the advantage of the average citizen, but to the globalist entities.

Even widely respected conservatives like Charlton Heston are alarmed over America's new direction under the current federal administration.  Here is a link to his recent comments.

The July 8, 2002 issue of In These Times had FBI, Good-bye as the lead editorial.  They are quite correct, it should be eliminated.   J. Edgar Hoover set the tone and left his influence, intimidating political opponents through spying and lying campaigns.  Let me remind you.  COINTELPRO.  Spying and lying on Martin Luther King Jr., the Jonathan Pollard fiasco, the Wen Ho Lee blunders, that Richard Jewell mess (that poor security guard falsely accused by the FBI through press leaks of the Atlanta Olympic bombing).  It goes on and on.  Here is some current news about the FBI, check this out.  And I find it mighty strange that the FBI has always discouraged the concept of the existence of John Doe #2.  But hey the FBI is real good in stopping illicit drugs, right?

The Coast Guard, Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco & Firearms (ATF), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), National Security Administration (NSA), Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), there are so many, I probably forgot some.  Merge all these federal agencies into one, headed by an honest, smart and brave sister like Maxine Waters.  That will help to reduce the rotten crap that we have for law enforcement.  Take the initials and make a new acronym like CAFFIND or something similar to call it and give it an official "Big Brotherish" name like the Federal Security Agency.

America should be ashamed of many of its representatives.  Many sound like they belong in another place (Berlin), another time (1941).  Some of you may be suspicious of getting information from the so-called conservative "right-wing" press like American Free Press.  As you can see, it is a wonderful mix of news.  I am happy to find the truth wherever I can.  I have been following the newspaper since the Spotlight (Liberty Lobby) days, and was sorry to see the Spotlight squashed by the courts last year.

No matter what political persuasion, try to support the alternative press.  Those media sources are the most reliable source of honest well balanced information in America.  Try to get a wide range of views.  The best of the "left" that I've found is The Progressive  magazine.  From the absolute center (just the facts) try CovertAction Quarterly.

And as far as double-speak, Dubya's new  "homicide bombing"  takes the prize.  As In These Times recently editorialized, America should try true defense.  Not this so-called "New War" which is just killing of defenseless people (some attending weddings) in their own homelands in our good name, at the direction of and for the benefit of a group of money grubbing scoundrels who have hijacked our political institutions.  If America is to be sucked into a quagmire in central Asia, there needs to be a full and honest national debate on the matter, lest we slide into that conflict on the incorrect side.

Remember Orwell's 1984?  Question.... was it a warning, or the model for our New America?
